People are saying, let us know how we can help. I don't know. The only thing I can think of is, feed me. I am Bad at Food on a good day, and these are not good days. I miss my dad. I miss who my mom used to be.

As we approach the midterms, remember that the Alt National Park Service is a merch sales operation claiming without evidence to be a group of federal employees, and is not a genuine source of news about elections of any kind. Please get your election info from a local, reputable source.

Checking the Lifeflight bill to see if there's been any movement on it... i really do hope that it gets covered, because otherwise that's a $64k bill.

Latest piece for @thenation.com "Jalen Hurts Deserved Better. We All Do" "This is a story of corporate & medical malfeasance, which is also a story many of us know all too well in a country where cruelty has become more than 'the point.' It has become currency." www.thenation.com/article/soci...

thenation.comJalen Hurts Deserves Better. We All Do.In a country that treats workers as expendable parts, Hurts playing through a blood clot is just the highest profile example of the price workers pay in an oligarchy.

What the ever loving fuck is going on with these people.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Pentagon says the firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will be livestreamed in December.

At this point my dad is in comfort care, and we are hoping to get him back home so that he and my Mom can have some time together. This might be the worst thing ever, I think. He has serious damage to his frontal lobe - at the very least, he would suffer severe personality changes.

It feels like we're killing him. Like maybe if we just gave it a little more work, if we did rehab instead of this... but he can't eat! Or drink water! Which means aspiration and eventual pneumonia. It still feels like we're killing him.

I haven't cried much for him. Like there's still a part of me that thinks that maybe, just maybe, he'll pull through. He won't, though. Not like the person he was. Why don't I feel like crying? Why am I still able to laugh, to enjoy things, when nothing is going to be the same?

As it is, he can't swallow, can't walk on his own, and while he responds (sometimes) to questions, the answers aren't always right. So he has no feeding tube (one in the nose got removed, no permanent feeding tube per his directive), has oxygen, but is no longer receiving anything beyond comfort.

my unpopular but accurate football opinion: We should not be glorifying and promoting a sport that routinely leaves its players with brain damage

Dream the other night - that I stole Dave Gahan's very fancy convertible classic car and drove it around. Got caught by the police, who handed me a paper bag that had signed pictures of the band in it. Turns out Dave was OK with the whole thing.

The world is falling apart, I feel like I might genuinely be losing my mind, Dad's headed to the ER because he fell in the parking lot of his assisted living facility... it just doesn't feel like things are getting better. Anywhere.

Yes! This! Makes it very uncomfortable to watch.

A new @bmj.com study has found that between a minimum of 24.5% to a maximum of 97.7% of the NFL players who died between 2016-2021 had CTE. This means a huge portion of those who will play this week *already have the disease.* www.theguardian.com/sport/2026/s...

I've been anti-football for a while (sacrilege for a native Alabamian) because of CTE, which probably affected one of my younger brothers who died a decade ago. i think part of the reason it's been so consistently dismissed is that CTE victims are mostly Black men. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/25/u...

🚨BREAKING: Our union of over 12,000 baristas are officially calling for a Starbucks boycott. Read this statement penned by Starbucks workers on why a boycott from ALL customers, allies, and organizations is necessary to fight back against corporate greed:

I think that tonight is Justice Hobo night.

Micah@rincewind.run

Q. Does Reacher believe in due process? A. As an angry and enormous justice hobo, Reacher believes that evil needs to be punched repeatedly in the face until it goes away. It is very cathartic, but not necessarily the sort of thing that fits within the American justice system.

Hey Seattle— right this moment you do not need to watch any of the videos or look for photos. Most likely you are not in a position where you need to listen to the scanner or constantly refresh news outlets. That stuff will be there later.
