Add this article to “things we’ve known for decades” (and that business buried because they wanted to continue to profit). Oil companies should be seized, their profits used to fix the problems they made! Industry executives knew for decades that microplastics were infiltrating the human body

Our hearts break for the families and community of Bend, Oregon. School was once a safe place. We used to not worry about sending our kids to school. Now we worry that gun violence could break out anywhere. #VoteBlue to leaders who will fight for our #FreedomFromGunViolence

New data shows Trump will cost the average American family $5,000 MORE this year. People are already struggling. We can’t afford Trump or Republicans. #WeCantAffordTrump

Here's an update from the post I shared a few days back. The 21 year old youngster who protesting peacefully & holding a speaker and was shot in the face by #ICE point blank has been permanently blinded in 1 eye! Please share this story widely!

MAGA: It’s not about patriotism, or the border, or trade deficits or any of that. It’s plain old piracy: raping, pillaging and plundering. And sometimes just being a dick (especially to female reporters). Their judgment day will come—sooner than they think.

Mollie Katzen brings up something well worth shouting about. The absolute lack of oversight when it comes to ICE related activity is astounding. This is one of the primary erosions of our civil rights: extralegal activity checked by nothing, not Congress, not SCOTUS. Everybody should fight this.

Soundbite descriptions of the budget bill correctly call it a massive transfer of wealth to the already-wealthy and the heist of Medicaid and Medicare. We need to expand the quick-version framing to include the fact that this bill also increases the immigrant detention budget x13 to 45 billion.

www.nytimes.com/2025/04/17/u... Grow a spine! GOP Congresspeople, you signed up for this, you allowed it to happen. If you don’t stop him, you won’t have to worry about polls and reelection: you will have aided and abetted a dictator. Do you want to live in the U.S. or in a lawless autocracy?!

nytimes.comSenator Lisa Murkowski Makes Startling Admission as Trump Wages Retribution CampaignLisa Murkowski, a longtime senator from Alaska and an independent voice in an increasingly tribal party, has been the rare Republican on Capitol Hill willing to criticize President Trump’s actions.

www.nytimes.com/video/us/pol... I have never ever seen a person in higher office in this country speak this way to the leader of another country. Shameful doesn’t even begin to describe this mockery of presidential and vp duties. Like ineffectual parents yelling at a child. Idiots.

nytimes.comVideo: Trump, Zelensky and Vance Argue Over Ukraine WarPresident Trump and Vice President JD Vance scolded President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine during a meeting in the Oval Office on Friday, claiming he was not grateful enough for U.S. aid.

A man, no plan, a canal: Trump. Vindictively undoing all the positive things your predecessors did is not a plan. We must resist the orange man and his attempts to undermine the country for power and profit. The cost of not speaking out against him loudly could be the only serious thing about him

As an avowed left-winger, I want to sincerely applaud those Republican Congresspeople who are resisting the orange man’s loyalty test and voting against a shut down. To thine own self (and and the nation’s health) be true!

With South Korea being the latest democracy to teeter on the edge of autocracy, one would think it’s time for democratic nations, especially prosperous ones, to take a hard look in the mirror. How are they failing the people? Perhaps it’s time democracy divorced capitalism…
