functions as a pretty good halloween album. love the spooky synths towards the end of sorry laid the hearth. always been funny to me that atmospheric black metal can either mean "lo-fi but there's a casio" or crazy layered maximalist production like this

I'm like ten hours into SMT 4A and this game is definitely a *response* to how alarmingly nationalist the neutral route is in 4, but it might also be buying into it completely. Game's fun at least, definitely less friction for better and for worse.

It's not an accident that Flynn as a protagonist is 18 years old whereas Nanashi is 15. Both of these games obviously have a lot of indulgent stuff but it really does feel like they're targeting slightly different age demographics. Still, it's strange to make your sequel the less mature one
