Turns out vcard files can store profile pictures encoded as a base64 string. It also turns out that Android doesn't import the image if you scan the data from a QR code. But it does work if you scan the code, paste it into a file, and import the file into Contacts. Yay

I made Bad Apple!! run entirely locally on the Pebble smartwatch! I managed to get half the animation to fit in the 256kB I'm allotted using a form of RLE, but had to pivot to quadtrees as a lossy compression to fit the full animation.

Playing around with stylised painterly rendering. This is a two-pass render. The first pass is a normal pathtraced render, then the second pass makes the paint strokes and sets the colour of the strokes to the first render's pixel colour.

Spent about 13 hours straight yesterday trying to write code that'll generate a QR code. When I started I thought it would just be a fun little project that wouldn't take too long 💀 On a completely unrelated note, anyone want a picture of something that looks like a QR code but doesn't scan?

Got a Pebble smartwatch recently and have been poking aroundin the C documentation for it. It's been pretty fun to learn how to write watchfaces for it. The Earth tells the hours, the moon tells the minutes and the large orbit shows the battery level.
