Hi, I’m Chloe, I’m a squishy human person who’s been around for donkey’s years, and this is my artwork. I sell it online because this is the path of least resistance currently. Here are ten recent pictures all of which are currently for sale through my website. www.chloecumming.com

Honestly several things are depressing about ai but the two that stand out are the eagerness of people to outsource thought because cognitive effort is uncomfortable, and the casualness with which people use the shiny, easy thing knowing it's bad for climate change

Between tick & tock lies a dislocated hour. Home to things with names too terrible to say. In the lost hours, in the gained hours, temporal spirits come through. Between tick and tock, some swear they can hear a soul trapped in time, scratching at glass. #ClocksGoBack

Halloween is near! It's time to post this marvellous articulated #Roman skeleton, presumably meant to be a reminder to enjoy life to the fullest, since pleasure ends irrevocably with death. In Petronius’ Satyricon, the host of a dinner party brings out a small skeleton with moveable...🧵 1/2

Finally finished for @skullsandsheets.bsky.social brilliant fundraising auction for domestic violence charities. A folk collision where a 1920s tray meets a 60s dress, a 50s tray cloth sewn by a stranger meets 40s doilies & napkins embroidered by my gran, her fake pearls & my own stitches + painting

Rose Ruane@regretteruane.bsky.social

Slowly getting there, for @skullsandsheets.bsky.social amazing auction to raise funds for domestic violence charities. Adding Mari Lwyds in appliqué & embroidery to this 1950s floral tray cloth, layering fabric fragments & embellishments from other eras, enjoying the enthusiastic amateur approach

Every Wednesday (erm Thursday!), I will post a children’s book I’ve enjoyed. If you’ve read it too, or you want to share another book, join in! Kòkú Àkànbí: The Heart of Midnight, by Maria Motúnráyò Àdébísí, illus by Simone Douglas. Alt text for why I like it. #ukkidlit #kidlituk #middlegrade

The stench in the kitchen persists. It’s time to remove the gas fire & see if there’s something rotting under or behind it. Happy Monday everyone!

Good news! Under the gas fire we found: - a red & yellow ball - an umbrella (!) - a large dead rat. Mystery solved! Stomachs turned!

I retweeted it earlier, but realised a bit of quote context might be useful: Excellent comedian (have seen/listened before!) and well worth an evening of your life! National tour, and tour dates are on her site.

Rachel Parris@rachelparris.bsky.social

Hey folks. In total honesty my tour is NOT selling well. I’ve sold 30 tickets in a 400 seater in Birmingham, and not much more elsewhere. If you like musical comedy, if you like standup, then please come see my show! And spread the word! The Rachel Parris Songbook tour starts in Nov! Link in bio! 🎶

Thank you to everyone posting about Brian & Wendy Froud's new book, containing 72 new paintings with literary responses by 37 women writers of diverse backgrounds, landscapes & mythic traditions. Having worked on the project for the last two years, we've all been moved by the enthusiastic response.

Wow! Texts are super rare for the Hittites, basically there’s just one archive and it’s 95% lists of prayer sacrifices to mountain gods, so this is really, really exciting!

Sarah E. Bond@sarahebond.bsky.social

184 new cuneiform tablets ✍️ (total), dating to c.1400 BCE. “Preliminary examination of the texts has revealed references to military activities, epidemics, the death of an infant princess & requests for assistance sent to the king by Hittite military commanders” www.heritagedaily.com/2026/10/184-...

This painting was a result of Francis Cadell being turned down to join the British army in 1914. He worked on a farm in Dumfries, Scotland (depicted here) in an attempt to improve his fitness - he later passed the medical board's examination and joined the Royal Scot's Guards.

A tragic episode of history and a fascinating window on Georgian Britain. #Bridgerton fans take note - a black Queen Dowager and princesses were known here in that era.

It's publication day for A Scrap of Moss & Magick! Officially out in the world, with @dfbstoryhouse.bsky.social. It feels at once wildly thrilling & strangely distant. (Alt Text for extended thanks! Links in bio!) Good luck, little book, out in the world! Go well! #ukkidlit #kidlituk #middlegrade
