Honestly I don't think a year ago I could have predicted the now total absence of Keir Starmer. He really is nowhere to be seen. It's crazy to think he was PM only a few months ago.

My son keeps trying to kill me and steal my wife every time I ring this bell, but I guess that's what I get for inventing the Oedipal bell

I've trained my dog to salivate at the sound of a bell thanks to my invention, the edible bell

I feel like this is an unfortunate consequence of the phrase "it's not a documentary" being used as a synonym for "it's not entirely truthful"

“'You Can See Everything' is a hilarious, thrilling, fascinating, beautiful piece of art. What it certainly is not is a documentary, and it’s dangerous to pretend that it is,” writes Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz. https://bit.ly/4Bk2nDJ

Frankly, I'm tired of this now. Abolish the BBC. We deserve better. I don't care if it comes with adverts.

This went on for the rest of the full hour, at which point the BBC apologised for having to go to the weather and urged viewers to follow continuing live coverage on iPlayer. Forty-one minutes of unfiltered, unchallenged propaganda by a far right party with 8 MPs, now third in the polls. Discuss.

I genuinely think an underrated factor in the election timing is, the longer Burnham waits, the higher the chance of Martin Lewis standing. At the moment, as has always been his line, he wouldn't stand. But I genuinely think a lot can change in 2 years, and he'll be persuaded to go for it.

Everyone's interpreting this as an attack on socialism, but don't forget this is Elon Musk – this could easily be an endorsement

I hate this dumbo critique for obvious reasons but also because there was in fact a connection between early fascism and socialism that doesn't fit into a post so the rebuttals are simplistic too. The truth is weirder and more revealing about how people slide from one camp to another

Made me really quite angry to see so many food delivery riders on the road yesterday in the really horrid weather. If you use Deliveroo vel sim during a storm, you'd better have a *really* compelling reason. Otherwise, go and collect it yourself.

I really really hate that this post got so much attention It's so badly worded !!!!!

Imagine advertising on TV being this bad at your job

Ok so my main issue with The Traitors is... in what sense are they actually Traitors? How are they trying to sabotage things?

Found out that my brother is through to the next round for a job near me Please join me in crossing everything for him - this would be great for him and would raise my spirit immensely

I was thinking earlier today, "why hasn't she been on TV much recently?" then this came on and I realised, "oh, that's why" – really hope this is a sign she's well enough to do more TV projects

Ariadne Griffin@ariadnereviews.bsky.social

why am I genuinely emotional about Miranda Hart being fake murdered? #CelebrityTraitors

I've been thinking about this all day

When as I, an informed regular visitor to the middle east, can explain that Sunny was mostly famous for their joint work whilst Shia went off to have a successful solo career with If I Could Turn Back Time and Believe.

"All right, I'm going. But I'm going to take industrial action. And I'll tell you, you've got right up my nose!" "And what are you gonna do?" "Picket!" I love The Goodies.

This is probably crazy and self-contradictory, but if the royal family wants to modernise, it really needs to abandon the royal titles. I do not believe anyone would treat Prince William any differently if he were known as e.g. William Cambridge. But it would send a strong message.

The Polar Express. Terrifying.

First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people! Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :) Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.

Ohhhhhh I think I just realised why Kemi thinks there'll be an election in December, and actually it's not completely insane

People often ask online trolls "would you say that to their face?" – absolutely outrageous that the answer is becoming "yes".

I don't know if this is quite accurate. Online piracy is easier than it ever has been.
