Mr. President, do you understand that President Obama meant you have the taste of a gaudy, murderous tinpot dictator who recklessly started a war with Iran?

Neanderthal stand-up comedian: Hey, I ain't saying those homo erectus are cognitively limited, but the only time I ever saw one paint a cave, was when he walked into one a sabre tooth tiger was living in! Heckler: Hey, man, it's the Middle Paleolithic, those jokes aren't cool anymore.

Every cis written trans character ever: "So, you're OK with people... y'know... like me? Well, you know how things are for... my sort of people. It's nice to meet someone who understands... my sort. I like to meet more people... well... like that thing that I am."

Mr Beast doing a Beast Games Challenge where everyone had to pull one third of their own weight, and being shocked when the small agile people could do it and the jacked guys couldn't, is so revealing. More money than god but nobody on your team has heard of the Square Cube Law

rtd's ai love gives a lot of context to why he set up a story about tech company but then derailed it into yet another generic RTD apocalypse finale with Sutekh right before the episode got the point he might be expected to say something about tech companies

"Everyone is the hero of their own story" is one of the dumbest sociological cliches. No, when the Coca Cola company used right-wing death squads against union leaders in the 90s, they didn't think they were heroes serving a greater good. They did it because it benefited them, and they knew that.

this version of Dr Who (this line is from the annual short story The Lair of Zarbi Supremo) will always beat RTD's super angsty Doctor in my mind. I like that Moffat returned the Doctor to this version. The "I am an idiot" speech from Death in Heaven is lovely.

Not against "dark Doctor" but I like it more when it's Seven-style "blows up a planet to save a galaxy" trolley problem type stuff, than the selfish moping of Ten. The former is cold, but justifiable, while the latter just doesn't feel like the Doctor at all to me.

big finish's Master-based spin-offs are some of the most solid output of Modern BF. Master!, War Master, and Missy series are far more consistently entertaining than anything they're currently doing that actually has the Doctor in it.

When tech guys post shit like "you use VLC? You should use Twinkle, which you can get by reading this 500 page page PDF on how to depack the qwertybash command prompt from github, IDIOT!" do they really expect anyone to go "wow, I see the error of my ways now!" and switch over?

The last time I emigrated somewhere without doing my research they elected Donald Trump, can’t recommend it.

WIRED@wired.com

The internet told them Europe was a social paradise. Turns out the trains are awful, the health care isn’t free, and people can be really mean.

Once a lift randomly took me to a strange closed off dimly lit floor mostly full of locked storage doors, that wasn't listed on the "you are here" floor map. Exploring that floor is still one of most treasured moments of my life. I felt like a character from a Doctor Who cold open.

Of course, I imagine it was simply one of those staff only floors the lift should have required a keycard for but took me to due to a technical error, rather than the random clothes shop I was at being secretly an SCP Foundation front company. Unless that's what they WANT me to think!

So you should think twice before calling horror movie characters stupid. They actually act very reasonably considering they don't know they're in a horror movie. If I were in a horror movie, I'd've got killed then. But how could I NOT explore? I knew I was getting an opportunity I'd never get again!
