On September 9 or 10, someone staged this protest at the Dallas Fort Worth airport ahead of the GOP midterm convention. Does anyone know which organization was behind it? We would love to speak with them. Please share widely!

Poilievre is simply saying what his Western base wants to hear: the only reason we don't have more pipelines is that the feds won't allow it. Now that C-5 is calling their bluff, he's doubling down to keep everyone angry. That's the strategy: division and anger.

Max Fawcett@maxfawcett.bsky.social

Poilievre said this in his recent interview with Paul Wells, and received *zero* pushback. It sure would be nice if the folks interviewing him had some modicum of interest (and expertise) in the details around energy markets and policy. (You'll note Poilievre is *still* blaming Canada here)

“Doctors won’t tell you this, but you don’t need medication for a tapeworm—all you need is the natural power of friction,” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said as he dropped to the floor, lifted his legs high, and dragged his ass along the White House carpet during a press conference.

I mean, I sure hope he's pledging his commitment to execute his duties on the book he actually follows. And the symbolism of using Qurans with personal significance to his family shows that his commitment is unwavering. This guy means it.

Zohran Mamdani, the first Muslim New York City mayor, will also be the first mayor to use the Quran at his swearing in. For his ceremony at City Hall, he will use his grandfather’s and at least one other family Quran.

It’s very funny to me that countries are trying to pass laws banning teens from social media until they’re older and can “handle it” as if the last decade hasn’t been about watching rich middle aged men nuke their brains on Twitter and then run the USA via shitpost.

Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice

Netflix to announce new docuseries The Greatest President, offering a totally accurate account of Trump's accomplishments, according to Trump.

Q: Should Netflix be allowed to buy Warner Brothers? TRUMP: That's a question. They have a very big market share. I'll be involved in that decision

The Conservatives just voted unanimously against a budget that includes tax cuts, increased military spending, reduction in the public service, funding and expedited approval for resource projects, and corporate welfare. WHAT

What's #PierrePoilievre 's next 3 word slogan gonna be? End the Spend Jet the Debt Lines Not Mines Gas Not Grass Free the Guns Slice the Price Elections Not Defections

Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Loving today's news that the mysterious "fedora man" outside the Louvre heist was actually a 15-year-old museum visitor who dresses like a 1940s French detective all the time, just because. apnews.com/article/louv...

Overall I'm liking what I'm seeing from Carney so far, but I wish we could have some more legitimate criticism and debate of this government's policy rather than the current dichotomy of superfans and shitposters and the constant reminder of how awful the other guy is

Toronto Harbourfront Centre is a space where people come together to share stories, create art, and build community.    Budget 2025 is building strong communities, and investing to build more places like this that bring us together and strengthen the bonds we share as Canadians.

2/2. Everyone using the phrase "land swap" should please specify which Russian territory Ukraine would be getting. So far it’s a euphemism for forcing Ukraine to give things up to Russia.

Not only do we need to do everything we can to help Ukraine, we need to do it as part of a coalition of countries also doing everything they can. We need to send a message that we and our allies are united against both Russian and MAGA aggression.

As end-of-empire scenarios go it is so much more dignified to get your capital city sacked by the Visigoths than to have a bunch of illiterate rich people in their 70s doing it through a series of incomprehensible tantrums because their brains were defeated by their phones.

The weird thing here is that he claims both that energy is consumed as required (saying it's impossible to store grid energy) while also denying that energy is consumed as required (as there is a reasonably strong correlation between the sun being out and people using electricity). FFS

As both a Canadian and a Jays fan, now is the time for the leaders of both to push all their chips into the centre of the table and go for broke.

I wonder if he thinks these buildings are literal tanks, massive fishbowl shaped structures in which people gather and sit quietly waiting for ideas to pop into their heads.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "He has these think tanks. They build buildings for people that think."

Colbert did not obey in advance.

Indivisible ❌👑@indivisible.org

Let’s be clear: This is political censorship. Just as CBS’ parent company handed Trump $16 million to settle a spurious lawsuit, this decision is about preemptively bowing to a regime that demands obedience. We stand with Stephen Colbert and every voice that Trump wants silenced.

The hate of men will pass and dictators die. And the power they took from the people will return to the people.

The first time Charlie Chaplin used his voice in a film, he wielded it to forcefully condemn the rising forces of fascism around the globe. Will we listen to his words today?

Question for those who were swayed by the Epstein files. The right has been telling us for years that they exist and will expose corruption & pedophiles. Now that they're telling us there are none, which means they were either lying then or they're lying now. Are you going to demand an explanation?

So this is very funny to me, because I spent my last few years on Twitter getting regular death threats and being called every slur in the book, and on Bluesky the worst thing someone has said to me pretty much equates to "You're not my brand of humor but let's agree to disagree on that"
