I'm just so sick of the unrelenting wave of AI. If the thing you're attempting to make is so good and vital for others to experience, then the time spent learning the skills to bring it to life is worth it. The reality is that most of these things people use AI for is uninspired copycat garbage.

had to defend QA testers the other night, a typical message of "how did no one test this?" maybe I have some kind of trauma response but I could not hold back. wrote up the "it was more than likely tested and reported as an issue but the dev team decided to label it known shippable" (1)

anywho I'm uncertain if the person I spoke with ever worked in gamedev. I did not really get the impression that they did but I don't like to make full assumptions. plus there's plenty of people who do & still don't fully understand QA processes.

Or the ever loving "as designed" label. Which then turned into "well it's a simple fix, it would be quick". Ooh golly I felt a rush, I tell you what! "What may seem like easy fixes to most of the user base may not be as such in reality. Or even if it is simple..." (2)

I think it’s morally correct to boycott/object to HP but I think that requires a strategy beyond performing outrage at every mention of the brand. you can just…use these opportunities to inform people that JK Rowling actively funds the persecution of trans people, a very sensible thing to oppose
