Its just so exhausting. Does EVERYTHING need ai? Like, do we need ai powered toasters and birdfeeders? Does every single app and software need some barely usable ai integration that no one asked for?

I was at a staff meeting today where the director just read her the poem she "wrote" using Gemini. I want to scream, "Fuck all the way off!!!" I hate this timeline.

This AI boom is actually making me strongly rethink my career choices and switch to Surron bike sales and servicing. Freaking sick and tired of all that AI bs in the IT industry.

There’s so much of it on here that I didn’t ask for, like a bloody minefield of people in fandoms I’m a part of just casually dropping slop

I just want it banned/made illegal at this point. I thought we could just let it due on its own, but im not to sure anymore. Its an abject failure but its still churning along

It should have died already but hasn't yet because the government keeps pouring billions into it. Probably stuck with it until an administration change at the very soonest.

My dad got a new Motorola phone and it has an ai app called glance that takes over his lock screen such that he can't see who is calling him. The app re-enables itself and reinstall itself. I don't know if it can be removed without jail breaking the thing.

yeah😔. The one I’ve been using gives a % and a description for why, so even if it’s marked as 45% likely fake, it’ll have a note that it detected art tool that have ai tech in them, not necessarily that it was generated. I go with my gut but use it as an extra check you know?

Don’t do that please. Those are also just ai, and in turn you’re feeding art to more ai. Fully traditional work has been flagged as ai by those things, they aren’t even reliable to do the job they say they do

In the next scene, the dad goes to the weird local art store that somehow stayed open and bought a gift basket of crayons, construction paper and stickers and they hung out making crafts and watched cartoons. The kicker, they forgot magnets for the fridge

Hang in there, the end of AI is near! Especially as it's slowly destroying itself in an ill-guided attempt at publicity, more people fighting back against genAI stuff and datacenters, and people start to appreciate more human-made things! Don't give up this easily!

if it wasn't for AI the Steam Machine and Steam frame could have made a much larger impact. The original prices for both were in the 700-800 dollar range before SCAM ALTMAN ruined it all for us

Taking a class right now to help people get jobs at the airport. They are ENCOURAGING people to use ai to write parts of your resume and talk to it to practice interviews, and they are AWARE of the hallucinations problem 🙃

my dad just sent me a screenshot of an ai telling him that the leftist party in germany is a descendant of the communist party that split our country after the third reich fell. and he just believes it over anything i show him. i'm tired too

No matter how intelligent one gets, they'll always be outnumbered by idiots. I remain sane for my own sake at this point by being bold in my philomathic pursuits, regardless of what happens to this world.

My grandma showed me an ai video of stalin threatening a modern russian politician at gunpoint for being a thief of the people Very crazy plot but I'm surprised there actually was one given the average production quality of such garbage

They took the politician into the forest, made him dig his own grave, when he pleaded for mercy they decided to put him to be a forester, then he escaped on his g class but was stopped by forest animals that started busting it down with some sick moves ??

Try Showing him the map of East and West Germany and AfD Supporters. Ask him which is worse Ethnocentric Neo-Nazis of the right or Traditional Socialists of the left (Idk how much is true, but I know Capitalism and Communism are new terms that constrain support for monetary flow in certain areas)

The same people who told us to not believe everything on the Internet are now telling us how chat gpt is their best friend and it really opened their eyes to what, "they," are doing. It's just so exhausting.

i literally tried to rebuttal with a wikipedia entry and he said that wikipedia can be wrong... i can't even laugh about how funny this is anymore

"Wikipedia can be edited, but ai is my friend and is connected to everything and so wouldn't lie to me!" - literally something someone said to me. It's funny and sad.

It literally made me hate bookshops because all of the AI slop covers. I loved to walk into a bookshop back then and now I can't have as little joy as this 😭

God I cannot wait for the AI crash... In the meantime. I'll play a game proudly created by artists! Hell Maiden. It's in early access and created by Astral Shift. Focussing on Dante after the Divine Comedy (if it was all lesbians). It plays like Vampire Survivors meets Hades. And is on steam now

Ai is so bad that I miss when it was just image thieves and tracers you had to worry about. Atleast the original images were actually created by humans😭

we aim not to encourage bad behavior, negotiate with terrorists or consciously engage with ai. it may possess an enjoyable quality, but that quality never belonged to the ai. after it's copy pasted into homogenous soup its uncanniness will only disgust us while obfuscating art made using brainpower.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they meant what they said. If a shop has a really good window display, but inside it's just a spiked pit trap, I'm not going to be a fan of the shop.

seeing everyone get excited about the AI mods, meanwhile im like "hey if this can reverse engineer literally anything you should be worried about this". no ones gatekeeping art, coding, acting, etc they just liked it enough to learn to do it now that anyone who doesnt give af about it can do it...

You and I both. Honestly I dont know what we were thinking? How is scaring people about being replaced or ruining their dreams in favour of a dumb machine for profit considered “the future”?

Tell me about it. I just unfollowed Alejandra Carabello after she announced her plans to pivot to talking more about AI content and regulation. It's a shame too, because she was very valuable when it comes to trans issues. But I don't want my feed to feature so much AI....

AI tried to accuse me of shoplifting twice at the self-checkout this time. The attendant was sick of it too. Said it trips for all kinds of random things. Safeway security dude literally hovered over me until i left the building.
