ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @ashley-c.bsky.social from TechAtBloomberg on advancing the Composites proposal to Stage 2 at @tc39.es today 🎉 Composites are objects that are compared by value instead of identity. They are an evolution of Record & Tuple proposal.

I will not stop reading code anytime soon. LLMs can generate code that's correct and even performant, but I frequently find it too complex. And I hate accidental complexity - it compounds very quickly and leads to cruft, bugs, and, ultimately, slow and unreliable software.

Digital Ocean ended their $50/month sponsorship of GNOME and FlatHub and went radio silent on CSS-Tricks right around the time they found a spare three million dollars to burn on “sponsoring” a high-profile racist’s dotfiles repo. Impossible to see this as anything but a statement of their values.

From a maintainer's perspective, AI-generated pull requests are just piles of potential slop that we have to sort through. We have no idea if folks are one-shotting them or if they're taking the time to spec out proper solutions and mold them into usable code.

the cost of duplication is lower now that we have LLMs and i think this impacts quite a bit i've been working on docs (for LLMs) and i don't mind repeating content on multiple pages where it's relevant i know if i need to change it the agent will make sure everything gets updated
