“He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened up a Cheesecake Factory” — Obama

Long lines for early voting on Boston today. Everyone was mildly annoyed by the wait, but not too annoyed to break out in applause every time a poll worker announced "we have a first time voter here!"

This is sad. General Dwight D. Eisenhower’s historic World War II globe was broken when Pete Hegseth’s team dropped it while trying to move it into his office.

On this day in 1804, Old North's first steeple was knocked down in a windstorm known as “The Great Gale of Boston.” Two years later, a new steeple was added — it was 15 feet shorter than the original. Our second steeple, pictured here, survived until Hurricane Carol blew it over in 1954.

Resisting authoritarianism is an American tradition. In April of 1775, Paul Revere and his allies risked everything to warn Patriots that British troops were heading to Concord. Where did Revere and his friends get the courage to defy authority? What would it take for you to do so?

Whenever we go through our photo archive, we always end up finding something unusual! Apparently, in 1987, the church hired a pest-sniffing beagle from Terminex Pest Control. The beagle must have done good work, because the sanctuary remains pest-free!

"Only the US voted no" 😆😂🤣🤣😭

John and Elizabeth Humphries were a free Black couple who worshiped at Old North Church in the 1740s. The Humphries seem to have been kind and charitable people. We know that they took in Jerusha Will, a terminally ill Indigenous woman who was also a member of this church.

Video of an ICE agent pulling a gun on a wife and mother, who is a US citizen born and raised in the area, near Bailey's Crossroads in Northern Virginia yesterday. Chillingly, they claimed she “almost ran them over” until she told them she had video proving that was a lie.

If anyone attending this session caught the reference to "warning out," this is the podcast episode for you... bsky.app/profile/hubh...

I’m reading a book published in 1944 and this logo is so unbelievably tough. I’d absolutely wear a shirt with this exact design.
