Loving Blue Prince so far! I had very little idea what it was, but now I'm amused that I started it just after finishing Hades. I guess I'm a roguelike person now.

When is the game industry gonna get less... bleak? Indie is still thriving, thankfully, but I feel bad for all those artists and programmers and everyone else getting laid off every month.

Man... I think I bit off more than I can chew with this game. Might have to step back and reevaluate, maybe work on something simpler for a bit. Does this ever happen to y'all? #IndieDev #GameDev

Lighting really does make a scene. As a video game creator, it's 100% worth learning about lighting for photography or video. The same rules apply even in virtual space.

I could have simply played the level sequence in the level blueprint. But no. I had to make it difficult. I had to create a sequence subsystem that subscribes to my progression tag subsystem to map tags to sequences and play them automatically. This is where my time goes. 🎮 #IndieDev #GameDev #UE5

Rewriting my interaction logic for a third time because I'm dumb and could have just used a single 2D interaction prompt widget instead of dynamically adding screen space widget components to every interaction actor... 🤬 🎮 #IndieDev #GameDev #UE5

Choose a side! I’m finally integrating more player choice into Barty’s Adventure. Depending on your actions in the Playroom, you could: 1. Broker peace 2. Side with the Woodens 3. Side with the Windups 4. Embrace the chaos #indiegames #gamedev #cozygames #wholesomegames #cutegames

Been away for a minute, but I'm back! First order of business: drastically improving my game's performance by switching from DX12 to DX11 and dropping to SM5. I'm still learning how to optimize. 😁 // #IndieDev #GameDev #UE5

How I felt after finishing Viva Piñata.

According to a new study into the post-game depression, it is the "sense of emptiness that arises after completing a deeply immersive game," resulting in a sense of "loss, emptiness, or sadness." https://t.co/oiZUjHXyzM

I'm into the aesthetic and worldbuilding of Marathon, but I think I'm just not an extraction shooter gamer. I'd love a single-player campaign in this world though.

I didn't grow up with Zelda, but I've played every game in the series and have quite a few fond memories. Happy 40th anniversary! ▲

I hate the parts of game development where I'm working on my game but it feels like I'm not accomplishing anything specific. #IndieDev #SoloDev #GameDev

Reading Unreal Engine release notes instead of working on my game like I should be. FML. #IndieDev #SoloDev #GameDev #UE5

Credit where due, Iron Lung is ambitious, and I loved the set design, music, and cinematography. But it does have new-director roughness--poor pacing, exposition dumps, chaotic plot. Fun but uneven, could have cut ~20 mins. Despite that, I hope Mark makes more. This first go is very promising!

As a noob game dev, I'm tempted to create a single class to handle the state and actions of all the world actors, but as an experienced software dev, I know that would create a lot of hard reference headaches later. Components... Components... Gotta do components. #IndieDev #SoloDev #GameDev #UE5

Hi, all! Solo dev here trying to get a gaming and game dev Discord off the ground. It's pretty quiet so far, and I'm hoping to get more people together to discuss all things gaming! Shoot through! 🙏🎮❤️ discord.gg/KtyzAgmWjh #IndieDev #SoloDev #GameDev

Throwing out my personal game of the year -- Cronos: The New Dawn. Tight gameplay, dripping atmosphere, unique story, insane lore, and just an all-around good time. Oh, and cats! Not sure why it flew so far under the radar this year, but I recommend giving it a shot! #horrorgames #videogames #vga

Just added a rudimentary proximity-based interaction system. Always felt like the aim-your-reticle system is a little clunky, and I think with some artistic updates, this will be a lot more immersive. It even accounts for visual occlusion! #IndieDev #SoloDev #GameDev #UE5
