Introduce yourself with ten bands you’ve seen live: Jurassic 5 Portishead Interpol A Tribe Called Quest Green Day Cat Power Toro y Moi Weezer Arcade Fire Janelle Monae

I've watched the video of the shooting too many times at this point. Nothing she says here is in any way shape or form backed up by the actual footage. 😡

Noem lies shamelessly: "An individual approached order Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic gun. The officers attempted to disarm this individual, but the armed suspect reacted violently. This looks like a situation where an individual arrived to inflict maximum damage and kill law enforcement"

Idea: take an image of the cover of a book and automatically add it to your request list at your local library. Noticing my existing workflow is take a picture at a bookstore, then manually hunt for it in my library system, but doing this for 10+ books is slow and tedious. Would love to automate.

“…median home prices up 52% compared to May 2019, while wages gained 30% over that period” And that wage increase is likely spurred in only certain industries. It’s brutal out there.

New research from the University of South Australia indicates that remote work leads to happier employees. Unfortunately for workers, caring about employee happiness was a zero interest rate phenomenon. No amount of data will change companies wanting RTO so workers can be more easily micromanaged.

cmu.frScientists have studied remote work for 4 years and have reached a clear conclusion: working from home makes us happier - Caring Minds UnitedScientists have spent four years diving deep into the world of remote work and stumbled upon a powerful truth: working from home genuinely makes us

At what point do people stop believing the BS they have been fed by those whole regime?

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is ousting all members of a key CDC vaccination advisory committee and replacing them with his own picks. The move appears to contradict a pledge he made during his confirmation process.

This is incredibly short sighted and ignores the fact that AI, robotics, and automation are targeting these kinds of jobs.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Lutnick: "It's time to train people not to do the jobs of the past, but to do the great jobs of the future. This is the new model where you work in these kinds of plants for the rest of your life and your kids work here and your grandkids work here. We let the auto plants go overseas."

What is even the point of these cabinet meetings? I'm sure that they excuse the press eventually, but these only seem like meetings intended to fondle the balls of the president and spout off some BS claims using fake, made up statistics...

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Bondi: "President, you first 100 days has far exceeded that of ANY other presidency in this country. Ever. Ever. Never seen anything like it. Thank you."

This whole thing feels like a manufactured attempt to shift the narrative back in their favor, but they continue to ignore that the constitution exists. Even the way Bondi describes the details—it’s very made for TV.

Anna Bower@annabower.bsky.social

The Attorney General is so unserious. If you’re a prosecutor who is serious about obtaining a conviction, you don’t go on Fox and talk about the (alleged) facts of the case like this. Has Bondi read the Justice Manual? Has Bondi heard of pretrial publicity motions? How about bar ethics rules?

For people that use their Tesla’s for business, this would result in larger deductions—meaning less taxes owed/paid to the government. That would certainly open Tesla up to some more liability, not that the current admin would hold them to account. Something, something, fraud and abuse…

Dare Obasanjo@carnage4life.bsky.social

Tesla has been sued for speeding up odometers causing cars to hit their 50,000 mile warranty limit faster. The lawsuit claims Tesla uses “predictive algorithms” for odometer readings instead of accurately tracking mileage. Bad timing given Tesla sales are already in the dumps.

“I can…assure you that were this a Republican president…targeting Democrats, I at least would speak out just as vigorously against it because if we are going to respect rule of law, the apparatus of the federal government cannot and should not be used as a partisan tool to bludgeon your enemies."

Finally, some good news ❤️

1. Great news. Yesterday, Planned Parenthood of Arizona restarted gender affirming care for transgender adults. This decision comes after widespread public outcry at a "pause," which was seen as overcompliance with Trump threats. The latest from S. Baum. Subscribe to support our journalism.

While not all sounded scripted, they were definitely all softballs. Not a single tough question in the bunch.

Rick Perlstein@rickperlstein.bsky.social

...try to watch through it. See how ALMOST ALL of the questions sound as if they had been scripted by the White House. (Paraphrasing one: "Why do you think the Democrat Party keeps insisting on defending the dangerous terrorists President Trump has been able to kick out of the country?")

8/ This is a watershed moment, as Trump thumbs his nose at a Supreme Court ruling, gaslighting the public by pretending his won 9-0 when he lost 9-0. If we normalize this, there's no end. He can lock up or remove anyone. We will no longer exist in a democracy.

Yeah? For an administration so concerned with budget deficits and waste, this seems like a good use of taxpayer dollars here. /s 🙄

Bren@kindofnerdy.bsky.social

Despite DOGE "spending cut" claims - and reminiscent of his 1st term - Trump's hoping to host a four mile Kim Jong Un-style military parade on June 14th, his 79th birthday. The day would also be used to honor 250 years of the U.S. Army. apnews.com/article/mili...

Okay, let’s say that’s true…can the administration go get them?

Evan McMurry@evanmcmurry.theatlantic.com

The Trump administration has acknowledged that it mistakenly deported a Maryland father with protected status to El Salvador—but claims that the courts cannot order him back. A @nickmiroff.bsky.social exclusive:

I think there is going to be a Red Rural Recession and soon if all the cuts continue as is All the firings, cancelling of grants and contracts with companies , the closing of offices, disproportionately impact small towns, cities and states. Their finances will be turned upside

Not safe? Aren’t they a part of Denmark, a NATO ally? Wouldn’t they have the protection of the USA already?
