I'll try to be more active on here. Going to have to mute a few doomers though. They are not good for my ๐Ÿง . Expect spaceships and puppy content

In this video, Ian from Griptape walks through how to build a custom Color Matching node for Griptape Nodes using an AI coding assistant. The demo uses Cursor, but the same approach works with any modern AI coding tool. Watch video here: youtu.be/0y0kUZxM_ks

My latest blog is out, covering the Griptape Framework 1.5 update. In this post, I experiment with relatedness calculations for image embeddings generated with Amazon's Titan Multimodal Embeddings G1 model, and get some good results. Check out the post here: www.griptape.ai/blog/announc...

Turns out I will be in San Francisco for the the AI Dev 25 Conference on Friday this week & at the AWS Gen AI Loft the day before on Thursday. If you're around, and want to meet up, ping me!

Just got accepted for my first conference talk in quite a few years. DevTalks www.devtalks.ro Romania ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด here I come. I was last there in 2107! It was fun & I am excited to be heading back. I really like Romania & I hope Romania will like "What's Hard About Developing Applications Powered by LLMs?" ๐Ÿ˜€

11 years and couple of weeks since I was here and in this building for my AWS New Hire training. Seattle has changed so much, and not for then better sadly๐Ÿ™

Confession: I've always struggled with using threads. Github Copilot ( and similar tools ) are really helpful in helping 'intermittent' developers (like me) use powerful concepts like this. Follow this thread for what I did..

With this prompt 'create a python function that takes a list and processes each list item in a different thread', the follow up 'make the items tuples, so the input would be a list of tuples', and 'how do I access the items in a tuple'. I was able to solve the problem in a matter of minutes.

I wanted to process a list containing items in parallel in different threads. The items were files that I wanted to upsert into namespaces in a vector store for a retrieval augmented generation application.

The upsert process needs an embedding operation, which is a call to the API for OpenAI's text-embedding-3-small model. This latency on this API call makes this a good candidate for threading.

For those of you that didn't know, I started a new role with LLM application development framework & cloud startup Griptape back in December. Here is my first piece of work in that new role ๐Ÿ’ฅ 'What's New in Griptape Framework v1.1?' www.griptape.ai/blog/whats-n.... I would love your feedback ๐Ÿ™
