AI has shown that there really are two different types of developers. There are product builders - they thrive with AI and there are artists - they hate AI with a passion. For one it was always about the goal, for the other it was about the craft.

I've been gone for a long time. Some reasons: - Bsky felt empty compared to X, but I didnt wanna go back - I felt most indie hackers are building for indie hackers and felt that as disingenious - I wasn't motivated to work on my own stuff, burned out Now I'm building first, doing social second

It's incredible how many people have no idea how designing a system for security works. Blog posts detailling how to expose ports to the internet (without any restrictions). Installations that expose 3000 ports to the wide web. Be safe out there. Any idiot can write blog posts.

When you wanted a really tiny app to help keep your plants alive πŸͺ΄ Now you have a Turborepo with frontend, backend, database and MinIO fileserver, getting proxied through a built-in nginx and deployed via Docker Compose 🀯 Thanks to @coolify.io at least I don't need to worry about hosting.

Time is an infuriating resource. You are given an indefinite amount. You HAVE to spend it and you can only spend the same amount all the time. You cannot save it. And you never know when yours runs out. 86400 seconds today. Spend them wisely.

Just so anyone still interested in @codeandconquer.fm has heard anything from me. I’m considering pausing the podcast. Leaving Twitter hit my motivation engaging with the community pretty hard. Still hacking but more with just me and my partner. Will see how it continues..

If you need a great podcast listen for your weekend, me and @alexsuzuki.com are ready for you 😎

We’re all often about business, making it big, earning that cash. Pause a while between those thoughts and think about how you woke up today. You’re alive! You’re breathing! Celebrate being alive once in a while β˜€οΈ

Survived my first flight in 8 years. I’ve been avoiding flying for almost a decade. Not gonna lie, wasn’t the best experience. Still glad I now get to enjoy my vacation β˜€οΈ

Many people in the community advocate for shipping things fast and fixing things as you go. But I think quite a lot stop at shipping fast and never do the other part. There is an insane amount of buggy indie software that never gets patches.

What's the best comprehensive guide on AI right now? Looking for something that goes into detail about LLMs, Prompt Engineering, Chaining, Multi-Agent Workflows etc. Best would be - very german - if it has a certification at the end... German businesses love those.

To clarify, I know the basics, I know how to prompt engineer. I'm looking for something that goes a little further into the nitty gritty, not a "Prompt Engineering 101" or "Develop your first OpenAI SDK call"

What's a good web scraping api with a generous free tier or a budget pricing tier (like $10-20/m) that you'd recommend? Trying to scrape a few job sites to automate finding new projects for myself.

Claude just coded a tool I always wanted to code in my free time at work but didn't ever have the time to strongly think about it. And it took it exactly 5mins and 3 tries to get it right. Software Development will be so different in 5 years.

There's nothing more demotivating than working with people that have literally no idea what they're doing... Current freelance project swapped out experienced QA engineers with "off-shore developers", that don't know what a null value is.
