IGN Creators Guild

We are tired of posting statements like these.

IGN lays off tech workers following Summer Game Fest, where pro-union messages were erased aftermath.site/ign-summer-gam...

They didn't hear us yesterday, so we let them know again. 80 more times. 80 more murals letting #IGNLive goers know that we deserve fair pay. Have fun cleaning them up this morning.

So this is what IGN management thinks of fair wages. #IGNLive

Today, the IGNCG sent this letter to our President of Ziff Davis Gaming & Entertainment to demand pay that reflects the rate of inflation in our contract. Please join us in asking @errorjustin.bsky.social, @peer-ign.bsky.social, @corradimus.bsky.social, and @yprough.bsky.social to pay us fairly.

Union says fuck it, takes lunch at 11:30am to show our solidarity ✊ Today, the IGNCG is celebrating May Day! We’re a bit early, but we’re just too excited about getting our first contract done. We’ve got pizza and pride in the work we’re doing to make IGN a better place for all of us. 💜

It's been a ✨while✨ since we've posted, huh? That's because our Bargaining team has been DEEP in negotiations over our first contract for over a year now. But we're finally getting towards the end, and we're hopeful that we can come to a fair agreement! I mean how could you say no to these faces?

Today, we sent a supermajority vote of no confidence to Ziff Davis General Manager, Kate Gutman. Here’s why. (1/7)

Ziff Davis and IGN routinely decide that work done by our laid off colleagues is not important. But inevitably, that crucial work falls onto those who remain. Not this time. Not anymore.

Ziff Davis just reported their "strongest quarterly revenue growth since 2021," up 9.8% to $352.2M, with gaming and entertainment up 7.5% YOY. So why were 8 of our members and 23 members of @zdcreatorsguild.bsky.social just laid off? bit.ly/3H0Osvb

Today, IGN laid off eight extremely valuable members of our union and workforce via directive from our parent company, Ziff Davis. This, after two incredibly successful live events IGN Live and SDCC, and yet another corporate acquisition. Please take a moment to read and share our full statement:

Ziff Davis — also IGN's parent company — implemented a huge company-wide buyout just months ago. To follow it with layoffs is unacceptable, especially when there are no signs of an end to their constant buying sprees.

An update: management has chosen not to recognize our Product, Engineering, and Humble Bundle colleagues as part of IGNCG, instead insisting on a time-consuming NLRB hearing, which took place last week. Help us spread the word: we will not be divided. We are IGN, and we will always stand together.

We stand with our peers at @voxmediaunion.bsky.social They deserve a fair contract now ✊🏻

It’s been- One week since we asked IGN Entertainment to recognize our friends on the product, engineering, and Humble Bundle teams as part of the IGN Creators Guild. The sooner that happens, the sooner we can start working with management to build towards a stronger future for us all!

Our little union is getting a bit bigger! Today, we proposed the addition of our product, engineering, and Humble Bundle folks into our unit. Join us in welcoming our peers and asking IGN Entertainment Inc. management to voluntarily recognize their addition into our union!

The NewsGuild-CWA and several Guild locals joined the Society of Professional Journalists (@spj-posts.bsky.social) in condemning recent government attacks on a free press. The White House must lift its ban on @apnews.com and stop obstructing journalists from reporting news to the American people.

📣📣WE HAVE A DEAL!📣📣 Last week, @nymagunion.bsky.social reached a tentative agreement with New York Magazine and Vox Media. We could not be prouder of our members who made it clear they were ready to withhold their labor if Vox Media didn’t meet them with a fair contract.

Our @condeunion.bsky.social members deserve better than half-baked RTO polices from Conde Nast. Stand with our @condeunion.bsky.social members and tell Anna Wintour you're with the union actionnetwork.org/petitions/st...

Holy cow, we've been public for a year! We have accomplished so much in that time. Some wins have been public, most have been behind the scenes, and the biggest are yet to come. We're proud of every single one of our members and endlessly thankful for the support of our community. More to come!

The NLRB protects workers’ right to form unions in their workplaces. President Trump illegally firing Gwynne Wilcox from the NLRB effectively shuts down their operations. This is bad for working people and good for bosses that want to deny workers’ their right to organize.

For decades, working people have fought for workplace safety and health protections that make their jobs safer. This new executive order puts all of our progress at risk. This only serves billionaires, not working people. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

Dr. King believed in the strength of collective action. As union members, we carry his vision forward by showing that when workers unite, we are unstoppable. Today, we recommit to the fight for justice, equality, and the power of solidarity.

Help CWA members and retirees devastated by California wildfires. Every dollar contributed to the CWA District 9 Disaster Relief Fund will go directly to helping our CWA and affiliate members with shelter, clothing, and essential household items. actionnetwork.org/fundraising/...

A statement from the Washington Post Guild on today's unconscionable layoffs.
