If the service is free, you are the product. If the service is paid, believe it or not, you are still the product.

It really very strongly feels like this should be illegal. They just got 20+ years of my email to train on without my consent, from a service I pay for. But I guess we're just going to let them keep doing it.

Resonant tries to do that at the start of each new zone, every boss, and in other sequences making cool ideas feel to similar because none of them have space to breath and everything ends up trying to blow your socks off. Would still recommend. Cannot imagine going into NG+ anytime soon.

Even post the early the patch the combat in the first 4-5 hours is pretty bland and sluggish but felt pretty fun for the remaining FORTY HOURS. Really feel for all the reviewers who had to deal with the pre-patched combat which sounds like a nightmare.

I think they probably should have cut/combined one of the early zones and all the remaining ones should have been 10-20% smaller. But it has those amazing Remedy vibes and the world is so fun to explore and experience.

I want to like Zero Company more than I am and I think a lot of it comes down to abysmal UI/UX. When you level up characters via bonds you get 3 random choices but you can’t look at those two characters’ stats when making this decision.

Same with trying to pick different classes and abilities. They put everything on different pages you need to constantly flip between. And maybe this is because I didn’t play XCOM but I’m struggling to understand which weapons, upgrades, and abilities synergize well.

Ed Sheeran’s statement is going to be studied in PR classes for years to come the same way the “sorry you were offended” statements of the 00-10s have been. There were so many empty statements he could have made that would have been frustrating to some but ultimately forgotten in a few days.

A fantastic video essay to watch this weekend about where online culture, gaming, and film intersect with Backrooms media.

If you have driven down Madison this week, you probably saw the amazing new mural between Waterbury and Chesterland (the east wall of Superscript Comics) created by Brushworks Garage. If you have not seen it yet, come check it out! Thank you for brightening this spot in our city!

"Well, now you can prompt something and get a result," Serkis continued. "And I don't have any problem with that. When it becomes exploitative and people are not remunerated for the work that they've done…” Good thing everyone’s art fed into the LLM was remunerated by OpenAI, Google, etc.

Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen will return as Frodo and Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum — more than 25 years on from when Fellowship of the Ring released, and now director Andy Serkis has said some level of digital de-aging will be used. https://bit.ly/4fxOKI3
