Mass Effect was my ultimate white whale, my all-time dream project. For the last couple years I'd been in discussion w/ BioWare & EA to take on the project & as part of that I wrote close to 20 minutes of music to explore where the franchise can go next, may as well share it!

Now that I've got a 4K copy of Linda Linda Linda, I'm hungry for someone to release I'm A Cyborg But That's OK on Blu-Ray or 4K. Dramatically underseen Park Chan Wook film that I've long loved. I'm getting greedy.

During the brazilian elections we learned one obvious but important tactic to defeat the far right on the Internet and I think everyone should know it: IGNORE THEM! DON'T ENGAGE WITH THEIR CONTENT! DON'T MAKE CONTENT REACTING TO THEM! DON'T HATE QRT! LET THEM ALONE IN THEIR BUBBLE!

My partner in France just started watching Interview with the Vampire with me. I've never been so excited for someone's take and thoughts and feels. She's deeply familiar with Anne Rice, as well as the cultural, religious, and general histories of various places, including New Orleans and France.

I recently picked up a soundbar as a little treat for me and my roommate. Today I'm watching Tron: Legacy as a lovely demo. I can't speak highly enough about how this movie looks and sounds, particularly with a TV and audio a cut above average. boxd.it/gWIpkj

boxd.itA โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… review of TRON: Legacy (2010)Sometimes we're so focused on the quality of a story that we lose track of the other crafts of filmmaking. Like Godzilla (2014), Tron: Legacy shows us where the qualities of writing and direction can ...

Part of my literal job is to fly out to physical game studios to rescue and recover historical materials that might be endangered and put them in a permanent archive. @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social is a 501(c)3 publicly funded to do that, my DMs are open, and I'm free for the next couple weeks...

Today is a good day to pause, close your computer, open it back up, and tell people who make a positive difference to you that they are doing good jobs.

โ€œThe internet is a store but it used to be a libraryโ€ hits me like a slug to the chest

I spent two weeks training as a call center rep for Dish Network/Echostar when I was 18 or so. That part was awesome: learned about engineering and tech of satellites, had lunch at a nearby bar with trivia. After starting the job proper, it was so horrible that I didn't go back for my third shift.

Replying to @gvaughnjoy.bsky.social

Criticism is being engaged and interested enough to really understand something and say "what if we looked at it like this?" Or "what if this was different about it?" Or "what if we applied this to something else?" And that skill translates to building a functioning, healthy democratic society.

Whoooooaaa!

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

the funniest part is he asked for n64 bomberman, we booted up 64, and then he was like "oh not that one the one with the good song" so he was 100% thinking about redial (but bought 64 and 2nd attack alongside hero anyway)

Now, you may notice I've been making fun of Jonathan Blow a certain amount. I should clarify I do have various positive things to say about his work. Which I will be keeping to myself for the entire rest of my life

llms only โ€œexistโ€ to give one reply at a turn you: x llm: y then the whole process starts over. there is no continuity. each reply is 100% fresh. the context of your previous โ€œconversationโ€ is included, hidden from you, in every request you make. continuity is an illusion

Great explainer. I don't think LLMs are conscious but a few additional arguments for LLMs nearing AI consciousness here: ai-frontiers.org/articles/the...
