Hello new people. I’m a leftist, socialist, American/Canadian who pulled up stakes and left the only home she’s ever known to move to Canada because the increasing fascism in the US is fucking terrifying. I’m a Jewish lesbian, to boot. If you don’t like that, go away.

Some Lula supporters apparently shouted his name out their window when it was announced he won and a cop pointed his gun at him and they took what is possibly the greatest image of a cop ever taken, like genuinely this would go hard as a cover for a Rage album its so poetic.

What Kamala Harris proposes in not impeaching Trump is this the same reason why letting Jefferson Davis and the rest of the Confederate soldiers and leaders off the hook was a bad idea.. We've been paying for it ever since😡

I have to get new tires for my car, because my car is from SoCal and I’m in southern British Columbia and ... there’s weather. Oy. Good news is I called a recommended place and they were very helpful!

10 to nothing?! Jesus Christ, Brewers!

His delivery as Bester saying "Anatomically impossible, but you're welcome to try" to Garibaldi, was a thing of beauty.

I got a new sweatshirt from muskokabearwear.com and it is soooooo fucking comfy!

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

So yeah, I was making a pie yesterday morning and the peeler got snagged on a 'bad spot' in an apple, and jumped onto my thumb. No ER visit needed, just me lying down cursing and putting pressure on until the bleeding eased up and I now sport a bandaid. But at least it's my LEFT hand for a change.

SIGH. BC has put the conservatives in power for the first time in 100ish years, because Eby was a fucking moron who called for a snap election. I know I said I needed to learn Canada Politics, but FFS monkey paw, I MEANT FROM A FUCKING BOOK!

AI has never smoked clove cigarettes and thus cannot produce art

Thumb vs veg peeler. Sigh.

Go ahead and destroy the Republic City data center, Korra. Make the people happy.

How the fuck did the Rays lose that one? Four runs in the first and they lost 4 to 5?

Seriously, I understand you can't make money on ads and especially if people hide them. But people who use that Admiral bullshit to block sites are the worst. It doesn't make people turn off their ad-blockers, it makes them stop using your site. @techcrunch.com ... I'm looking at you.

I guess this is a normal thing for an otter to worry about?

I voted :) My first BC votes!

"Now that the Guards are out, are you watching the World Series?" No. I'm a baseball fan, yes, but primarily a Guardians fan. I'll wait till next season and keep making basebelles.com cooler

Watching “Naked & Afraid: Shipwrecked” and … I know it’s edited for drama but the way Jarrell treats women specifically makes me 🤨 For someone to just quit rather than talk to him again is pretty telling. And even Malu noted he was a dick to his previous partner.

Early voting begins this week in 15 states across the country. Have you voted yet? I urge you to do whatever you can to get out the vote in your communities and vote as soon as you can.

🍁 Attention freelance journalists 🍁 Canada's @nationalobserver.com is looking for your pitches. We have a healthy freelance budget (think potential travel), and are looking to fund interesting, ambitious reporting that dives deep into Canada's climate, energy, and politics.

I wish I was more surprised, but I feared this yesterday. Our bullpen is spent, our bats are weak, and it all caught up to us. Our season ends in Tampa. #CleGuardians #ALCS #GuardsBall

The Guardians’ season comes to an end. ⚾️ 💔 Cleveland fought until the end but fell 7-3 to Tampa Bay in Game 6 of the ALCS on Monday night at Tropicana Field. Picture: AP

I have a throw-away Reddit account and any time I start feeling attached to it, I delete it and make a new one. I made one this weekend, the first time since I moved to Canada, and it suggested I join /r/poutine ...

Smykowski! Who's going to bring the specs to the engineers now!?

The Guards have their backs against the wall (again) and have to win two in St. Pete to go to the big show. Can we? #CleGuardians #alcs #ClevelandGuardians

MLB officially says Game 4 will start in a delay. As you expected.

I also have a show in Fredericksburg, VA tomorrow night if anybody lives that far out!

New front page for basebelles.com 1. A season status tracker 2. Details on upcoming game 3. Series tracker game block I'm having fun with this site. It's also the first site I built with the new Site Editor with templates. I'm less enamoured of that part. It's clunky and weird to update.

Nice job, Brew Crew. Hope to see you there.

Oh good, we’re just gonna mess with time some more. To prevent massive IT disruptions from a potential negative leap second, global metrology leaders have officially decided to make UTC a continuous time scale starting May 20, 2027 (capping UT1-UTC diff at 1 hour). www.bipm.org/en/cgpm-2026...
