Yeah this kind of content is oriented toward people over 80 and under 8, and that’s a really easy way to tell something is trying to exploit people.

this the kind of ads that are cooking my grandfather’s brain to a crisp

So I found the whole set of Germany and the Second World War volumes, but they’re for in-person study only, so I’ll be working from the Schwarzman Building for the foreseeable future.

This is such an incredible book. A genius work. And the writing is so beautiful. Behemoth: The Structure and Practice of National Socialism, 1933-1944 by Franz Neumann

I would’ve thought this happened in reverse, but you’ll be happy to know I’m being accused of racism for not reading about the pacific theater over on twitter.

About a year ago, I grabbed a little book from a stoop sale and developed a special interest in World War 2. Since then, I’ve read almost a book a week. I finally wrote down the full list. This is not in any order. There are exactly 2 books on the list I wouldn’t recommend.

I miss our cat, Ted. Some of you on here probably still remember him. He was a minor internet celebrity for a second, and when I worked for Ilhan, I did several fundraising drives where I would post pics of him in exchange for donation receipts and raised like $25,000.

Anyway, there aren’t many people you can honestly say this of, but when Anna Khachiyan posts about Ilhan it’s because she’s jealous of her looks.

Something for you all to keep in mind is that a ton of the liberals with the biggest loudspeakers think of Red Scare when they imagine what a Bernie Sanders supporter sounds like.

I'm not saying every "dirtbag leftist" was and is an amoral garbage bag, but I'm not not saying that.

The part of the election runup where every day brings videos of Trump getting up in front of some battleground audience in his dumb hat and going "frankly you're terrible people, really disgusting. A bunch of stupid people and their awful kids. [long break for laughter and applause] Ugly as shit,"

So Danny Trejo was manipulated and tricked into being in Ben Shapiro's newest film. Holy shit.

There will be a lot of equivocating about all the times search warrants have been executed on members of Congress for corruption investigations and the like, and it can't be stressed enough in how many ways HSI raiding Ilhan Omar is extremely not like that.

I’m outraged by this attack on Representative Omar. Trump and his DOJ have a bizarre obsession with tearing down Minnesota, our leaders and our communities. This latest action, even as voting has already started in Minnesota, is a transparent attempt to interfere in our elections.

Incredible start to the narrative in this one where Hastings notes the decade he wrote this book was the last decade meaningful interview scholarship with contemporaries could take place. He goes on to say the “stooped, frail” [stature of vets] is “the destiny of us all.”

My daughter was placed in PS 307 (the school from the NHJ piece) for 3K. We were really biting our knuckle about what to do before our daycare opened up a 3K class because of the extra funding from Zohran. I feel very lucky we ultimately didn’t have to make that choice.

Hilarious moment in one of the books I’m reading where, in the midst of Operation Bagration in 1944, and the annihilation of Army Group Center, Hitler, in a moment of passion, demanded Walter Model explain why German soldiers refused to die for him like the Red Army for Stalin.

Funny section of the book I’m reading rn where the author takes the regime’s claims of reducing rape and sexual abuse in the Third Reich by 3/4 and makes clear the reduction was entirely because there were about 4 to 9 million fewer men in the country in the 1940s.

Thought I was gonna have to white knuckle it in backward France where weed is illegal, but the guy at the CBD store heard my accent and immediately sold me what was just regular weed.

I haven’t posted about this, but we leave tonight for our first vacation without the Girl. Almost two weeks in France! Mostly in Paris, but Libi let me cajole her into going to Normandy so I could visit Omaha Beach.

He had this look in his eyes I’ve never seen in another cat. A sort of world weary, ironic detachment. It was so fucking funny. He looked so serious and he acted like a fucking clown.

I’ve been building these little kinda knockoff Lego tanks and my new one just got here and it is.. so much bigger than all the other ones I’ve built. It’s got like 6 times as many pieces.

I also put this little guy together last night. Pew pew.

I’m a basic bitch. My favorite Simpsons character is Homer. My favorite Sopranos character is Tony. My favorite Office character is Michael Scott. And my favorite Soviet General is Zhukov.

Being a member of a military high command in world war 2 seems like it would’ve been so fun. Looking at huge maps and moving little flags around on them. Rubbing your chin and saying things like “but what about Manstein’s right?” and giving grudging respect to your opponent.
