Designing the characters as I go. I drew that stretched out neck sketch the other day completely separate from my brain alien story. But needed the person the alien sees sitting on the bench. #art #sketch #comic

New #gameassets! City Kit: Roads has been updated and now includes traffic lights, road signs, electrical wiring and more. Expect more City Kit updates coming weeks! 💖 As always, this pack is completely free to use by anyone for anything! kenney.nl/assets/city-...

I am really thankful to those who provide feedback on my prototypes. Even when it takes the original idea in another direction. This upcoming week I will be providing a few updates to one of my projects. #gamedev #unity3d

I dropped the price of one of my script assets to $0 for 2 reasons. The reason those scripts exist is that I wanted to figure out my own way of doing it. And frankly, the code isn't up to my own standards today. And Unity provides a better way.

People message me that my assets get resold at Fab, itch.io & Roblox. Technically that's legal (sort of debatable), but I still feel it's unfair for people that pay for them while they could've been free. I want my assets to be free, please keep them free.

Controller support still gets treated as a stretch goal in a lot of PC indies, even though the Steam Deck alone pushed a huge chunk of players onto a pad by default. Feels like the last decade's biggest afterthought in indie ports. #gamedev #indiedev

Time to start thinking about what to tackle next for my dungeon generator. Since releasing, I wanted to get my friend's prototype to a state where you could play the basic game loop. One thing in the handmade scene, which would be nice, is floor tile variety and some hanging torches #gamedev #unity

Procedural generation gets pitched as infinite replayability, but the runs that actually stick with players are almost always the handcrafted ones a designer tuned by hand. Random layouts solve content cost, not memorability. #indiegames #gamedev

When I originally designed the dungeon generator step by step on paper. with example size 7. Implementation perfectly generated rooms of size 7, exactly as specified. wasn't till testing larger I found the issue. Correction is better, but the issue had interesting results #gamedesign #gamedev #unity

I’m getting ready to release the first iteration of my dungeon generator. And finish up the bit for my friends prototype. But one major plan do it is to add some non euclidian space in the mix for alternative configurations. And to make the roguelike feel more rouge like #gamedev #unity

The cozy label sells wishlists fast, but slapping it on a game with a real difficulty spike partway through just sets up the exact reviews it was trying to avoid. #indiegames #gamedev

Thinking about differences in input based on the platform. I am trying to figure out the best way to pause for WebGL on pc browsers. Since I can't use escape, my mental default, what would you fine folks suggest be the default replacement? #gamedev #unity #webgl

Rendering of the basic mug I made a while back. Oh, how many times have I "learned" blender; I don't remember. Time to relearn, again, to touch up some of the models I am seeing issues with in unity. is this art? I don't know. #blender #gamedev #mug #art

New world who dis? Working on getting the dungeon generator ready for the people to use. still got more to upgrade on but the generator is a more “perfected” version of what it was. #unity #gamedev

A little update on my old procedural level generator. Giving it a gander recently because my friend had a game project perfect for it, I upgraded it slightly, fixing one issue with tracking player room state and joining the navmeshes between rooms. There are more upgrades to come #gamedev #unity

A while back, I made a basic procedural level generator for a group project. Today a friend of mine gave me a project which would be great for this kind of generator. ran into some scaling issues. But this gives me motivation to upgrade this asset. #gamedev #unity
