@aescripts.bsky.social So, my After Effects will no longer open (I just beach ball) unless I disable all my plugins. Is this related to the PHP issue you all are dealing with?

I've really been enjoying Kyle Thompson's Well Dweller. Or, as I like to call it, relaxing Hollow Knight. #metroidvania

Serious question for those who use AI to write their e-mails: do you think it's a good thing to sound like a LinkedIn post with every interaction?

I read recently that the prolonged rehashing of 1980s kid media is now called "courting the grandpa market," and, yeah. Gen-Alpha doesn't give a shit about Transformers, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, He-Man, Star Wars. Those movies are for 58-year-olds.

it's the most wonderful time of the year www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVrM...

AI generated slop ads are getting wild.

Deckbuilding video games have become an addiction of mine. Here are some to try that are NOT Slay the Spire. Special shoutout to the delightful @theroyalwrit.bsky.social, which just came to #gamepass. thereisnttimeforthat.substack.com/p/deckbuildi... #deckbuilder #roguelike #videogamess

@jeffcannata.bsky.social Another terrific little roguelike deckbuilder recently hit Gamepass, and I think you'd dig it. It's essentially Wildfrost combined with Balatro, with a cute medievel storybook aesthetic. www.xbox.com/en-US/games/...

Really tough year for folks who appeared in Home Alone 2…

For all you fans of tactics and deck building combat, "Fogpiercer" is a real indie gem: lots of creative mechanics that set it apart from the crowd. Choo choo! #indiegames #deckbuilders #roguelike @hoodedhorse.bsky.social

@jeffcannata.bsky.social Like you, I'm a huge deck builder fan. This is currently on Gamepass and I think you'd dig it (though it may take a few runs to really click). Combines tactical movement like "Into the Breach" with Slay the Spire deck-building. store.steampowered.com/app/3219010/...

This is an A+ fake name. 5 stars. No notes.

I wrote about "The Bear's" final season, where its creators finally accepted that it was actually comfort viewing. thereisnttimeforthat.substack.com/p/the-bears-...

I adored “Mixtape”, a transcendent mixture of movies, video games, and millennial nostalgia. #Mixtape #Videogames

Gotta say...major streaming services putting repackaged YouTube influencer garbage on their platforms is not ideal.

Depluralize a movie: One thing, one place, one at a time

What’s Passover you ask? Well, what do you know about constipation?

April Fool’s Day: open mic night for the least funny people in the world.

Barely managed to get a post together this week. In somewhat related news, @megacrit.com's transcendentally good Slay the Spire 2 is in early access. #indiegames #slaytheSpire #deckbuilder

The world is pretty bad but I just had my first successful necrobinder run in #SlaytheSpire. So, you know, small victories.

"Would you like me to make your e-mail more concise?" Shut up, bot! My verbosity and bad grammar is charming.

What?!! Time to repost: thereisnttimeforthat.substack.com/p/wonder-man...

I wrote about Marvel’s “Wonder Man,” which I think is the best thing to come out of the MCU in quite some time! “Short Term 12” hive rise! thereisnttimeforthat.substack.com/p/wonder-man...

It's a bummer that the internet can't just be normal and accept that both OBAA and Sinners are amazing, and insist on pitting them against one another. It's a miracle that they both came out in the same year. Celebrate that!

Pro-tip for Disney/Hulu bundle users trying to watch the Oscars: For some reason Oscars don’t show up in Disney+. You need to login to Disneyplus.com, make sure to ACTIVATE Hulu at the bottom of your membership page, then login to the Hulu standalone app. They really screwed this up

Minishoot' Adventures just had it's console release (and it's on Game Pass!), so if you happened to miss it back in 2024, now is your chance! A phenomenal game! #videogames #gamepass #indiegames

I wrote about HBO's "Industry"—a show that has developed into true prestige television despite the fact that nobody seems to be watching it. #Television #HBO
