this is a truly preposterous argument. under this theory, if a grand jury indicted on one count and no-billed another, the government could just file a superseding indictment to add the no-billed count back in. it makes NO sense.

Anna Bower@annabower.bsky.social

MJ: So to be clear your view is that a superseding indictment could be filed adding new charges, and there's no requirement for probable cause, unless an arrest warrant is being sought? DOJ: Yes

what

Here's the facially-absurd-on-multiple-fronts U.S. v. Alaska complaint: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us... The case has been assigned to Judge Sharon Louise Gleason, an Obama appointee.

"you're absolutely right - lining up under the center and punching in the first down was the right call, and i missed that! i apologize"

the alaska supreme court decided this months ago, and waiting to bring this now is (1) sanctionably frivolous even before getting to the merits; and (2) clearly meant to make a run at causing a complete electoral meltdown

NEWS — The Trump administration sued Alaska over Dan J. Sullivan’s Senate candidacy, arguing voter confusion could affect the race between Sen. Dan S. Sullivan and Democrat Mary Peltola, per Courthouse News.

in fairness to the browns, this is consistent with their position on sexual assault more generally

David at FOIAball@foiaball.com

The Browns, Bengals, Guardians, Reds, Blue Jackets, Cavaliers, Crew, and FC Cincinnati. The owners of every single pro sports team in Ohio have all donated to Vivek Ramaswamy. And not a single one has spoken up about his recent ad. www.foiaball.com/p/ohio-sport...

lmao there is no hell hot enough

this is fucking appalling. i already knew james dolan (who owns the knicks and madison square garden) was a douche but this is next-level. www.nytimes.com/athletic/771...

this is literally what happens every time trump or someone in his orbit does something completely beyond the pale. the normal, human reaction of shock and disgust gets replaced by a cold circling of the wagons.

Will Sommer@willsommer.bsky.social

After some initial shock, MAGA media figures like Glenn Beck and Ben Shapiro have come to embrace Vivek Ramaswamy's ad starring Amy Acton's estranged mother. My latest False Flag for @thebulwark.com: www.thebulwark.com/p/maga-media...

not for nothing but Vivek Ramaswamy actually wrote a whole op-ed in the new york times about people being mean to him

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Vance: "I've never once heard Vivek Ramaswamy complain about somebody being mean to him. I have never once heard Vivek say, 'You know what, they ran a very unfair TV advertisement against me.'"

imagine learning that someone you knew was estranged from her mother and had been for years. imagine learning that estrangement came about because her mother defended her rapist. now imagine deciding that you would reopen that wound in front of 300 million people for political gain.

it's honestly hard to fathom what drives someone to be this version of themselves

FactPost@factpostnews.bsky.social

Unearthed footage of Vivek Ramaswamy mocking Amy Acton for being a survivor of childhood abuse: "She has no vision other than to complain about what someone else did to her"

hey @nytimes.com making me enter a code every time i log in and then following it up with a prompt saying i can make that go away if i upgrade my subscription to a family plan is about the fastest way to get me to unsubscribe you could possibly imagine

as expected, this all ties back to the ability to short the prediction markets. everything is a grift.

We were investigating Wedgewood for faking their data and emailed them for comment this morning, ahead of publishing the findings tomorrow. They are now trying to cover up their fraud with the "we were doing a social experiment" excuse. Full story here: blog.fiftyplusone.news/p/fiftypluso...

this is just base racism. not even a veneer of creativity or deniability. just a total loser.

wow -- a protester directly behind Vance gets up and yells "release the Epstein files!" Vance suggest he's an illegal immigrant.

if i was deposing this person as a witness i would be calling the judge

sorry for extending the kelly clarkson discourse for yet another day but not hard to see why she got frustrated with this guy. he's asked three times whether or not the bird is for sale and won't give a clear answer!

yes! this is exactly correct! why is this so hard

Fascinating tidbit in this interview with former Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont), he says that Texas Republicans anti-transgender ads aren't "resonating." "What Republicans are talking about is just not what the swing voter is really interested in." www.texasmonthly.com/news-politic...

perhaps! also perhaps not

Emmer with some epic copium: "What's happening right now is money being around where it is most efficient. People say, 'Oh, they're cutting the string on this candidate.' No, that's not true. Perhaps that candidate is stable. Perhaps that candidate is doing what he or she needs to do to win."

not sure trump going around saying "vaygan" everywhere is gonna get the job done on this one

Good morning. Federal prosecutors in Chicago filed partially redacted documents overnight in the "Broadview Six" case. The redactions appear to include the signature block (including the name) of one of the attorneys representing the United States government:

lmao i think trump actually hates ken paxton

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

President Trump called for a debate between Texas’s Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democratic state Rep. James Talarico in the state’s Senate race. Paxton has rebuffed calls to debate Talarico, who has already agreed to numerous debates.

jd vance went to yale btw

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: How do you define socialism personally? JD VANCE: I think in reality what it actually means in the American context is you want to replace American workers with foreigners workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports

think how culturally rotted we have to be such that an elected representative feels comfortable saying this out loud

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Rep. Greg Murphy describes people who have lived in America for decades and have families here and are brutally deported by ICE as "collateral damage," and says "thank God we're getting rid of the garbage that's in our country:"

idk why these ads are all going national this week but the fact that others got to see this fills me with joy

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

folks, i can't tell you how many times i've rewatched this ad *that republicans are paying people to see*

incredibly poetic that republicans dragged jack smith into congress for a show trial and the only thing anyone will ever remember is that eric schmitt is a colossal idiot

"well guess what" is about the funniest way he could have delivered this

Sen. Mike Lee: "I won't be a bit surprised if President Trump decides at one point to say, 'You know, President Xi, let's go visit Panda Express and see what you think of their broccoli beef.' I'd love to see that happen. That's the kind of thing President Trump likes to do."

it's JD's first day at standing school (Kent Nishimura/Pool via Getty)

this was potentially a persuasive message in resposne to the bombing of pearl harbor. it is not persuasive in response to (1) a war no one was asking for; (2) months of insisting gas prices were NOT rising or that any rise was temporary; and (3) a series of easily disprovable lies about progress

Headquarters@headquartersnews.bsky.social

Roger Marshall: I'm sorry gas prices are going up but your national security is more important than your pocketbook

this is more condescending than anything some ivory tower columnist could write about rural America

@NewsJennifer (Jennifer Schulze)@newsjennifer.bsky.social

I see the NYT is still platforming 'dei crushed white men' bullsh*t. Here it's buried in a 'why rural themed pop culture' is so popular in a piece written by a Princeton grad who lives in New York City. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/13/o...

this is one of those times i would really like to see the cour'ts reasoning to understand what it was about this case that finally made them say this was enough bullshit
