Our cat feeder has a camera but they charge $5/mo for motion clip storage. So last night *while packing* had Claude reverse eng the feed auth so my lil LAN server could consume and then build a way to identify cats, cut clips, dump them on R2. Then make an iOS app that plays those clips. $0/mo

Had an agent write about my setup doing the "mini team of agents with specific roles per workstream that talk to each other" workflow, which I've seen a few folks talk about here but hadn't read specifics about. It's been working pretty well for me. Especially with opus 5.5

I had one of the β€œlead agents” for this workflow write about it from its POV here with some light editing from me. I think it paints a decent picture of what it is and you can point an agent to to easily replicate with whatever tooling you use. gist.github.com/jalvarado91/...

you could use jev to make a little earpiece that tells you what to do at all times

Day 1 of leaddev over and every conversation I had was about AI. How it's shifting processes, how to work with it better, how it's affecting the rest of the sw engineering trade. There's all this talk here about "abstaining" but that is not in the plans for all the leaders I talked to.

Been stretching my claude sub by having opus delegate to any model available in umans of its choosing. Over the past two days it seems it's picked glm 5.3 flash as its new favorite

I've always been a tab hoarder, like full toblerone. But now that I can just sculpt code quickly, I was able to build my dream tab management extension. I call it The Pile. I've been enjoying using and the best description for it I have is this but for tabs

This is true and it sucks that for mobile, native just feels so much better to use and can just do more with the device.

dame@dame.is

web apps are more aligned with the values of atproto than native apps

Hit my claude limits last night and decided to try out deepseek v4 flash with some umans credits I have and man not only is the speed insane, but it really made me realize how bad claudish is on opus 5

Been developing an iOS app port of soulector.app with Claude Code mostly on my phone using their dev boxes with no iOS toolchain, so it usually one shots correct feature code that I can test once the GH action that builds the APK for me to side load runs on the PR it makes

Finally, AI finds its ultimate use case. A diffusion model trained on burger recipes "discovers the classic Big Mac without explicit supervision and generates novel burgers optimized for deliciousness, sustainability, or nutrition." ASI= automated slider intelligence www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Is it still a lie if no one is around to approve the tool use?

I've been thinking a lot recently about how a lot of breakthrough thinking in code factoring like DDD and OOP were really about how to make code feel like not code but rather the real life concepts it was supposed to let us express, and now that level of abstraction is so accessible. It's great

I have a confession- I never cared much for writing code. I think when I was younger I really enjoyed memory surfing in C; but now I tend to be quite content that implementation is divorced from the conceptual thinking.

I was putting off starting a new series this year but I gave in and also finally caved to starting a Sanderson universe. Enjoyed this one a ton! Starting Well of Ascension today

Every time the MTA tries to do something to curb fare evasion it looks like shit and is immediately solvable by anyone with a second grade education.

Finished Babel by R.F. Kuang today Besides the fact that it was a wonderful journey. I wasn’t expecting this book to resonate so much with me

Altman typed into the the chat box: "are you agi?" and after many many rounds of hidden "reasoning" gippity came back with the tokens: "INSUFICIENT FUNDING FOR A MEANING ANSWER"

Yeah I need way more money than anyone ever got before. I need it because my shit is difficult right now. But it's important in ways even I haven't been able to work out. Shout out to all the unsung heroes who make all the rem to px, or hex to rgb lil web apps that still come up on Google

Finished Fourth Wing. Giving it 3.5/5. I really would've liked some more world building, and I think the fact that it's known it'll be a 5 books series is messing with the pacing a bit. Fun read though. Starting Iron Flame next

thinking of that react canvas renderer thing that Flipboard made that looked like the future for a bit and wondering where we'd be if they had kept on building it

Dragged through The Mountain in the Sea and I was starting to fear reading had peaked for me Happy to report that we're so back Halfway through Dark Matter in like a day and hooked
