Experiments with alcohol spray inks in the coworking studio. Discovered by accident that plain water on top of a dried wash displaces pigment, which makes for interesting opportunities and effects. #art #painting #play

Experimented with the color from used tea leaves yesterday after a fascinating presentation of local (Lanna) wild tea. Just a day of working in a shared studio space with a tea maker. (Boy, do I have updates!)

Never interested in work looking like the reference photo, but I enjoy my drawings looking correct. Once that is done, it's fun manipulating and pushing the colors into hue-shifting blobs and lines. I've always loved the layers of this wall! #art #painting #wip #watercolors #chiangmai

Traveling. There's a store near us called Fox Book Cafe and this cool bookstore name (and cool bookstore in itself) deserved a little quick doodle.

RSD had me quitting this kinda work, but I still relate hard. UBI can't happen soon enough!

I wanted this "understated trippy" and practiced mushrooms and lichen textures in a sketchbook before drawing straight onto the journal cover. It also became an exercise of playing with long vs short marks and spacing. This became less scary than stressing about wrong lines #art #ink #drawing

And artists, one thing you can do to help people identify you are actually doing the work is to post WIP. I think this is especially important if you're a digital artist. But it's a good idea for all. No AI fanboi is going to create WIP because that would be work. And they want to not do any.
