Many Georgist shibboleths throughout without explicitly using the term Georgist/Georgism and Public Banking is certainly looking to be the modern day iteration of Georgist monetary policy (commonly understood to be the gold half of the Georgist shield/Chevron).

(There is some occasional cussing as it is targeted toward union workers in WA state and the Greater Seattle Area, but I find many of the concepts to be framed in an accessible way, so I think that the rhetoric is 75-85% of the way there.)

The same property tax caps which prevent the middle class from being extorted by government are the very same caps which force the middle class to subsidize the wealthy.

I don't care which side of the aisle you're on. When you threaten a government shutdown, you're not striking to improve your working conditions. You're striking because you're not getting your way. Go invoke an Article V Convention. Show up SOMEWHERE and DO YOUR JOB.

As China halts U.S. soybean imports for Argentinian ones, American farmers face frustration over a U.S. bailout for Argentina's economy. According to Redfin, this is impacting housing, with 2 in 5 homes in Des Moines & Omaha seeing price dropsβ€”double the national rate.

Taxing the *positive* externalities of certain transportation modes is a new one to me. Maybe Washington can take that revenue and use it to subsidize cigarette sales.

The proposed transportation budget that was just released by the Washington State Senate includes a 10% surcharge on e-bikes, and a vehicle registration fee for public transit operators along with a removal of the exemption of public transit vehicles from paying tolls.

Hey kids: Don't confuse price inflation with monetary inflation. Don't confuse inflation with deadweight loss. Don't confuse government debt with government spending. Don't confuse productive government spending with unproductive government spending.

".. During a radio interview Saturday .., Bessent said 'tariffs can’t be inflationary because if the price of one thing goes up -- unless you give people more money -- then they have less money to spend on the other thing, so there is no inflation.'" @cnn.com www.cnn.com/2024/11/25/b...

The people demand free parking. In a world where cars outnumber people (which isn't true), somebody should think of the cars! #CarMathusian #UrbanPlanning #Urbanism

"And state Sen. Mark Baisley, R-Woodland Park, questioned exactly where people would park in a city like Denver if the tax system incentivized multi-story buildings on every block." πŸ”° Sounds like #LVT would trigger a #ConstructionBoom & help make more #AffordableHousing. Priorities, people!
