A beautiful metaphor for America here at Glacier National Park: a bunch of people standing under a melting glacier that could collapse onto them at any moment despite all the signs warning them.

Any time anyone ever tells you that the biggest companies in the world wouldn’t waste hundreds of billions of dollars on AI, show them this. This is the core profit center of one of the largest tech companies in the world, and it’s run like a sloppy pre seed startup in the web3 era

Apparently a bunch of words trigger this kind of response, including redo, delete, help, and these others I've attached. For some reason it was really focused on where I live. Also RIP pulling up definitions from Google, it was a nice feature.

The Coalition’s plan to index income tax scales to inflation may work on paper, but critics argue it risks fuelling inflation, blowing out the budget and tying the RBA in knots. Indexing income tax scales — another bad idea from the Coalition ~ @thekouk.bsky.social

How many Rs in half-a-trillion spent on products which consume the water and energy resources of entire counties, all the while hemorrhaging tens of billions year on year with no viable path to profitability?

2025 goes down as the ~3rd-warmest year on record (based on ERA5). Like in 2024, every single day this past year was warmer than the average of even the most recent reference period (1991-2020).

He's scared. Tesla sales are tanking, California is about to rule that "Full Self-Driving" is false advertising, Starship keeps blowing up, SpaceX loses too much money to IPO, and XAI is burning $10 billion/year for the 4th place chatbot. It's over, he knows it, and only corruption can save him.

SCOOP: Elon Musk — who threatened to launch a third party and support challengers to Republican incumbents during his dispute with Trump — is now firmly back in the GOP's camp having begun funding Republican midterms campaigns.

I can't get over this. In response to a kid committing suicide after talking to ChatGPT, OpenAI's response is literally "he prompted it wrong." There's something profoundly broken in these people's hearts.

A decade ago, Waymo travelled 423,000 miles and had 341 disengagements. That's 1,240 miles per disengagement. Now Waymo travels 17,060 miles between critical disengagements, conducts 250,000 paid rides a week and has served 10 million total rides - all without a single serious accident.

A post from Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla's VP of AI, showed that Tesla's Supervised Robotaxis had driven about 500 miles. In these 500 miles, the Supervised Robotaxis made two known safety critical errors. The Supervised Robotaxi only managed approximately 250 miles between safety critical errors.

Despite Tesla limiting the Supervised Robotaxis to a small geofence, they also require the constant attention of a Tesla employee in the front passenger seat. The Tesla supervisors had their thumbs hovering over the door release button throughout the rides, which we suspect is a kill-switch.

Tesla is now doing all of the things that Elon Musk and the Tesla Cult constantly criticized actual Robotaxi companies for. - being limited to daytime operations - being geofenced - mapping the area - avoiding difficult routes - requiring a supervisor in the car.
