The USDA memo that was circulated to the governors of gray wolf and Mexican gray wolf states on October 12 is, frankly, a load of crap. The letters urge the governors and state agencies to lethally remove wolves to protect cows - the same wolf-scapegoating BS we've heard for years. (1/2)

Killing wolves doesn't protect cows, but it does destabilize wolf packs and can result in increased poaching of wolves. States should listen to peer-reviewed science, not USDA Director Rollins. (2/2)
