If this terrible budget bill is passed as is, then I think that all GOP legislators should lose THEIR excellent government health care coverage and join the rest of Americans who will lose Medicaid!! After all, what's good for the goose should be good for the gander!

“The Pentagon is in ‘total chaos’ and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is unlikely to remain in his role, according to its former top spokesperson, who painted a scene of dysfunction, backstabbing and continuous missteps at the highest levels of the department.”

politico.comFormer Pentagon official warns department's dysfunction could topple Hegseth“The last month has been a full-blown meltdown at the Pentagon,” John Ullyot, the former top Defense Department spokesperson, wrote in a POLITICO Magazine opinion piece.

"Loose lips sink ships." Secretary of Defence, Pete Hegseth, has screwed up again by inappropriately using the Signal app. One thing is absolutely true: If Hegseth had been approved by a Democratic majority, he'd be out on his ear already.

“You can’t find a more exciting historical story.” 250 years after Paul Revere’s famous midnight ride, we followed the 16-mile route and spoke to people who felt a sense of wonder about that April night. nyti.ms/4cPQeun

Thirty years to the day after a truck bomb leveled a federal building, former president Bill Clinton said the country desperately needs to heed the lessons of how this city recovered, rising above anger and polarization to become a better place to live.

A #squirrel gets gently brushed and clearly enjoys it. When the scratching stops, it taps for more. This reaction is common in #mammals, as grooming and gentle touch can trigger calming responses and even release endorphins.

Last night was the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops. I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III. Remind you of anyone?

The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. We’re already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.

Bill Maher: please leave your cutting comments to yourself concerning Governor Whitmer's recent visit to the oval office. She was there for one thing only: To do business on behalf of the State of Michigan, no more, no less. She, unlike YOUR recent visit, wasn't there to buddy up to Trump.

1) Bill Maher defines himself as a centrist liberal. On the 4/11/25 episode of his HBO show, he talked about his recent visit to the White House. He described Trump as having a sense of humor & open to criticism from him. This Trump, Maher said, was not the man we see daily on TV and social media.

3) The average MAGA voter doesn't fit into this mold. They often spew hate & have blind loyalty to a man who is a bitter narcissist bent on revenge against anyone he considers an enemy. Trump is in office this time around to spread misery & destroy everything that has MADE the U.S. great w/out him.

4) Despite Maher being impressed with what he experienced at the White House, his meeting revealed nothing important. So what if Trump appeared sane, open & charming -- big deal! Any person can act a part when necessary. What IS still true is that Trump's hate, cruelty & stupidity remain intact.

2) Maher likes to say that we'll never get anywhere not talking with the MAGA faithful on their level. Perhaps Maher's MAGA friends, those he famously smokes weed with and has them as guests on his Club Random podcast, are more open and, I'm sure, more intelligent than most.

Never have we celebrated a sitting president on his birthday in any way, let alone via a MILITARY PARADE. The cost estimate is $90 million. DOGE has cut thousands of fed jobs/services, & has threatened the same for SS, Medicare and Medicaid, so to order such a parade is offensive, stupid & cruel.

"Drill baby, drill" equals kill baby, kill. That is, killing access to our most cherished parks and national preserves. In addition, Trump will soon go after our public lands to seek out the "rare minerals" he is currently focused on (he also wants to shake down Ukraine for the same).

For yelling at President Zelensky and puffing up his chest like the big BOY HE THINKS he is, Trump has shamed our country & brought a level of degradation we have never seen before. Vance was right by his side, doubling down the lies, cruelty & bullshit. ALL Americans should be appalled.

To my fellow Michiganders of Middle Eastern descent that voted for Trump: How do you feel about your choice now that Dear Leader wants the Palestinian people to move to Jordan or Egypt? He's made no mention of what assistance if any the Palestinians would receive to be forced from their land.

Trump spent most of his speech to the nation this morning, about the D.C. plane crash last night over the Potomac, trashing the Biden & Obama admins, Pete Buttigieg and his mgmt of the Dept of Trans., plus other egregious lies he spewed to make himself look like a savior and an omniscient leader.

Trump now wants to pass a law that allows presidents, including those with non-consecutive terms such as himself, to be able to run for a third term. Well, folks, the Dictator-in-Chief is getting his ducks in a row to ensure he never has to leave office, unless it's feet first, I suppose.

I have and will continue to. But you know why I say it here ? Because @bsky.app is 30m strong and growing quickly. The collective wisdom and influence of users here is far greater than any individual democrat. I can't say it enough. Bluesky can be the influence that can counter RW media.

No offense, Mark, but you have influence and power most of us don’t. Why don’t you speak up to those in DC you have connections with? Actions speak louder than words as you well know.
