Got fucked out of one of the Limited Champs Qualifiers due to Arena randomly casting Charge the Sanctum on a non-attacking random creature instead of my lethal creature. Extremely frustrating when you don't have lots of time to jam lots of these, won't bother doing more. Deck was even very sweet ;_;

Next draft, more Jund. With 2 Fblthps and Witchstalkers I pulled out every land in my deck multiple times on the way to 7-1. Seems like most of the time I end up whatever deck I wheel like, 2 Witchstalkers/Lightning Helix equipments, which works pretty well apparently.

This was functionally a 7-0 except for getting messed up on the last turn of game 7 via child interference (accidentally pressing space, skipping my precombat mainphase, putting opponent to one instead of dead then getting owned by rares etc.) but I think it counts.

Was a completely reasonable-looking UB deck, opened Garruk/Sphinx in pack 2 and 3 respectively, and so the deck was incredible despite never getting there on regular hard removal.

Got there again with Sultai Landcyclers + removal spells. I only actually drew Vraska once in 9 games, and lost that one. Just a really solid value theme deck.

A couple of days off drafting, right back with another 7-2 with Boros. Seems pretty great every time

Having a great time with Hades 2 so far, as expected. Was smart of me to not replay Hades beforehand as I got the intended experience of being bodied repeatedly until I got get a handle on all the movement etc. Still die sometimes, mostly to bosses filling the whole arena with death while I go ???

After a couple of less successful dalliances with forcing RG, I did actually trophy with UB but forgot to screenshot it. Remembered to get this one. I started off Golgari actually, but then getting Warrior's Blades 8th and 9th pulled me away.

Finally scrounged up a sweet Sultai Control-ish deck. Never once draw Lyra, but Overwrite the Multiverse + Countersculpt backup is basically Splinter Twin so no big deal. Small Fblthp always just eats a removal spell so I never got to do that either, but I did kill 2 people with a 5/11 Yargle

All this talk of Splinter Twin in the format, when really white has the highest amount of Twin scenarios. Rescue Girl + anything? Game. Yuriko + Traxos? Game. Koth + plains? Game. Twisted Fate + creatures? That's a Twin right there.

Please, I just want a draft with no basic plains! But it feels like on Arena, people really love taking the RG stuff, and... I dunno I haven't felt close to seeing enough on-theme Rakdos to make a proper Rakdos burn deck a thing? Maybe it's there and just overdrafted at the moment.

More Boros-based trophying. I keep wanting to play the Trumpet Blast type of deck, but I keep getting too many removal spells to justify running the pump spell ;_;

Another one! Trophy rate pretty good so far, and I keep not getting to draft sweet stuff. I mean beating people up with random white creatures can be sweet, but for example I keep getting Dimir/Rakdos Legends then being steered away.

X-1 Trophy, totally different kind of deck. Mana was a bit sketchy, but worked out evidentally. Red Ajani was, as expected as I read the card, totally bonkers.

I am suddenly feeling nostalgic for forum-based text Let's Plays I used to read, stuff like X-Com etc. Seems like this would be an incredible game for one of those.

It's really refreshing seeing shitey normal working class life depicted like this in a game, and a Silent Hill game no less. Pebble-dashed council flats, three-bar fires, Post Office counters, concrete shopping precincts. This must be how posh people felt playing Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

To illustrate to a MTG player that's been out of it for a while the levels of power creep I got to use this example: My opponent on the play triple Duress'd me, made a turn 3 thing that comes back if you kill it, then one-shot me on turn 4. And this easy, powerful deck is like tier 3 at best 🫠
