It's free and it's wonderful.

You don't get the little orange flag for the free chart, but ... I'll take it. The Valentine's Express is number 1 in an obscure category on Amazon and it's still FREE, if anyone wants a relatively low angst comfort read. books2read.com/Valentinesex...

Don’t pay to get published. Ever. Fuck vanity presses. Fuck “agents” who ask for money. Fuck “pay to play” anthologies. Don’t. Fucking. Pay.

One month to go and everything comes to an end. Amberes will never be the same again. Preorder now at your favourite bookshop. On the 19th November the trilogy will be complete and we will be celebrating in Dublin with all the gods and monsters & some very special guests. Stay tuned & #StayFeral

I saw a post about someone reading The Understory by Chloe Benjamin. I hit reply to gush about how much I loved that book and the whole thing disappeared. So ... If you're reading The Understory, it's AMAZING. It's probably the best thing I've read this year!

The exciting part about the Anthropic vibe coded settlement backend is that no matter how many times you fix your information, the same broken bits will reappear. It will be total madness. The entire backend is broken because, AS THEY TOLD ME ON THE PHONE, they know it is because they vibe coded.

This.

Repeat after me: 1) PIP isn't an out of work benefit. It is a benefit paid to disabled people to pay for the extra costs of living with a disability. 2) Some PIP claimants work. Some PIP claimants will never able to work at all. 3) Impoverishing people doesn't get them closer to employment

I've been trying to make social media things for my book. My brain has given up on me now. This is so much harder than writing the book in the first place. Please buy my book so that I can stop doing this and get back to writing.* *seriously. It's here: books2read.com/manbuns or bookshops.

"There is a technical, literary term for those who mistake the opinions and beliefs of characters in a novel for those of the author. The term is 'idiot'." - Larry Niven

Funny isn't it? The books that I love are never the ones that sell well. The books I finish and think, 'deadline's up, that'll do' sell better (not well, better). I don't know why this is. This episode is brought to you by my royalty statement. In the last 6 months, the book of my heart made me 84p.

I literally don’t know a single woman who hasn’t been raped, stalked, groped, harassed, or sexually violated in some way at some point in their life. If you choose to doubt and dox survivors, just know every woman in your life is disgusted by you.

There are flowers blooming in the garden like it's spring, at the same time the late fruits are falling off and leaves are starting to turn. It really does feel like we've passed that 'global warming will mess up the weather' tipping point we've been warned about for decades.

Amazon did an excellent job of driving out the competition and destroying indie bookstores. It controls most the prices for books in the USA. And now it's looking to get rid of authors entirely. That's not the future we want for books.

Amazon has introduced "Stories With Alexa" where their AI will help your kid write book... ... no word on whether the stories and art were created in-house by Amazon, or if they're based on outside resources. There's also no information on whether or not Amazon or your child retains copyright.
