We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

Hey Somerville... Guess what?  WE BOUGHT THE BUILDING. The Somerville Theatre now belongs to the people who run it. Buying it was our leap of faith. Supporting it is where you come in. Find how you can help: somervilletheatre.com/future

This is the best thing since sliced bread...

I'm in the market for a 3d printer for my son but not really sure what would be the best option for him. He does robotics at school and they have a print lab there so I'd love for him to have one at home to mess around with. I was looking at bamboo but would really appreciate any suggestions.

Too many young men don’t have good leaders and mentors to look up to. I introduced legislation this summer to help get our young men the role models they need to thrive.

Just a bunch of excuses by selfish hypocrites. This would help out all kinds of families, esp. those on limited budgets. Kids aren't responsible for their parents choices or income level. For some, this is the only meal they get for the day. So sad seeing grown-ass adults hate on kids like this.

The Hupfeld Phonoliszt-Violina is an early 1900s German orchestrion that uses a rotating bow and pneumatic fingers to play three violins and a piano from a perforated paper roll, dubbed the “8th wonder of the world” at the 1910 Brussels World's Fair. IG: @andreridd ~ Netherlands

There's a guy in my replies who says he doens't read women because they write well about emotional conflicts and unrequited love and that's not what he wants. He reads sci fi he says. Can you imagine reading sci-fi and not reading Octavia Butler? Or Ursula K Le Guin? Or NK Jemisin?

While this is heartwarming this is really 2 bleak things: - We have kids hungry and in “lunch debt” - Incarcerated peoole are stepping up for them more than politicians

Yes I'm reposting. I liked 7-9 almost as much as 4-6. I didn't really enjoy the jarjar saga but I'm not going to have on it. Rogue One/Andor remain the best SW material hands down. Clone wars/Bad Batch close second. Everyone else figure it out.

Does anyone know how we can go from the AI slop we currently have to something like Cortana, Jarvis or Data? Or anything else that actually has intelligence and won't destroy our planet?

We’re not changing it.

I’ve had to fix Joy-Con drift loads of times for my kids, so I thought it was probably worth making a proper video about what causes it and how to replace the sticks with new tech. Full repair and TMR upgrade here: youtu.be/-wjS_90v_wg #NintendoSwitch #JoyConDrift Shares **really** appreciated!

Who's old enough to remember these? I was probably 7-8 at the time this was being used. Mom had a Commodore 64 but she doesn't remember using it with that, so I'll have to unravel that mystery. In any case, what a cool piece of tech!

Public Education is a common sense investment that brings a greater rate of return back to society than any stocks/bonds could ever match. Intelligence makes for a better society, not wealth.

APOCALYPSE NOW was released in the US 47 years ago today. Francis Ford Coppola’s magnum opus is considered by many to be the definitive Vietnam War film. The production of the film is one of the most unbelievable stories in Hollywood history. 1/55

School meals should be free for everybody. Charging children to eat somewhere they are legally required to be for the entire day is crazy!

I think my biggest Old Person complaint is that we don’t need that many data centers because, quite frankly, not everything needs to be In The Cloud. This isn’t 2015 anymore, I can buy a 2tb thumb drive, there’s no reason I need to save my entire documents folder to a server, Microsoft.

I am 2,000 years old

Infrastructure like water systems should always be air-gapped at the most critical levels and monitored through external sensors whereever possible to minimize the intrusion footprint. Multiple security layers are essential.

This. This is what bookstores should look like. Amazing.

If anyone would like to see a short video of a very happy piglet munching on some small cubes of cheese, this is your lucky day.

FluxCaster build thread! It's a self contained Bluetooth cassette adapter specifically for loading games on to older systems. It's got a Schmitt trigger onboard to tidy up incoming data, will pause automatically for the C64 and has some other bells and whistles. 🤓
