Oh my, this is such good news! Happy for you @geoffgraham.me, all the @css-tricks.com and for the web community.

CSS-Tricks*@css-tricks.com

CSS-Tricks has a new owner! Yes, I've got the keys to the castle, so to speak. And, even after 12 years of working on the site, I'll admit I'm a little overwhelmed and nervous about that. https://css-tricks.com/css-tricks-has-a-new-owner/

Of course not. The main problem in the corporate bubble is bad decisions and poor management. Making poor management make bad decisions *faster* will just give you the same results. But faster, of course.

If you never left X fine. If you left X because of fascism, Nazis, or Musk and you're going back? You just have inconsistent values and I got beef with you. Like please do not pretend you ever took a moral stance on this and accept your roasting for having a spine like a dried twig.

“The culture on X today is remarkably friendly and inclusive. It is a cheerful place”. Tell me you are a white privileged cis men without telling me you are a white privileged cis men.

The “I am not discriminated there then discrimination doesn’t exist” energy is everywhere in that post. You can have your own valid reason to use X, but don’t gaslight the rest into thinking something that’s far from reality most live when using that app. Incredibly condescending and tone deaf.

“[…] the algorithm there was putting Musk’s own tweets into my timeline, every time I checked […]. But they don’t do that anymore”, I opened that app yesterday and literally the first thing I saw was a boosted Elon Musk post. John really thinks whatever experience he has, it’s everyone’s experience.

As a fan of all things in space, and CSS, I think this is incredible. The web is such an amazing platform to build stuff. Kudos @lowpoly.gg 👏

Explore the universe in 3D CSS. JavaScript is optional. Launching css.earth 🌍 🚀 #WorldSpaceWeek

It’s unbelievable how GitHub became unusable this year. I have been waiting long minutes for a pull request page to just open.

Just realized I left comments on a PR to adjust voice and tone on a piece of documentation written by agents, that most likely won’t be read by humans neither, and it made a *petit* more depressed.

Porffor is such an underrated project. Just-in-time compilation works great for browsers, but makes little sense for servers, we would benefit a lot from this level of optimization.

Porffor alpha is out! It represents a new phase of the project where real-world dependencies are beginning to work and Node compatibility is the main bottleneck. To be clear, it still likely won't work with your app yet, but it is much closer than before. Recap here: honk.foo/porffor-alpha/

We put a tracking device in a shipment of rare books acquired by an anonymous buyer. It ended up at an Amazon facility where the company scans books for training data and destroys them in the process: www.404media.co/we-tracked-a...

Follow this thread to check all the talks from this @jsheroes.io edition. Can’t wait to start planning next year’s edition!

JSHeroes@jsheroes.io

We're starting our summer recap of JSHeroes 2026 with the very first talk we had this year, an amazing keynote from @philhawksworth.dev about the past, present and future of JavaScript and the web ecosystem ❤️ www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W0s...

With liquid glass I am seeing so much regression in user experience. Some apps now require you to scroll or do some weird quirks to show you navigation items. Can’t believe we are going backwards on such basic stuff.

Everybody knew what those layoffs because “we are more productive with AI” actually meant. This is the result. This is the reality, and reality it’s inescapable.

Gergely Orosz@gergely.pragmaticengineer.com

Meta had a SEV-0 outage today… less than two weeks after Meta’s most embarrassing undetected-for-too-long account takeover (also an outage) It’s impossible to unsee Meta pushing AI for code + reviews and the end result being more massive outages vs before They are connected

I miss the times when companies' developer conferences were developer conferences. Now they are announcements just to keep shareholders steady. Sad and boring times.

Hard agree. It is something I’ve been doing more and more. If you see a talk, an article, a course, a project you liked please say it. You have no idea the effect it has on creators, especially in these times when it feels there’s a void that swallows anything that is creative and human.

If you don't have time to read it, the tl;dr is, if there are educational content creators you value, let them know. They might write, make videos, or anything else. Times are tough, and talented people are fading away. A few encouraging words from a real person can make a huge difference.

Against the sea of noise, slow down. Take the time you need. Find community. Learn with them. Share with others. Dream long term. Build together. Have fun. Love. Care.

Talks may be over, but the community moments continued at our traditional speakers picnic. 🐻 🚀 #JSHeroes #JScommunity #tech #const #papanași #latteart

I have a lot of feelings and thoughts every time JSHeroes ends. When @alexmoldovan.dev asked me to help them it was the easiest *yes* of my life, and it was even more than I imagined. I made new friends from all over the world, and actually feel I made _some_ impact in this community.

JSHeroes@jsheroes.io

Aaaand it's a wrap 🌯 We loved having you all in this edition, the speakers, the attendees and the sponsors. We made new friends and we got the chance to old ones again after many years. Stay tuned for 2027!

Thanks a lot for this Dan 💙

🚨 if you want to follow the amazing speakers/mcs from this year then may i submit this starter pack for your consideration? it has been such a pleasure to listen and learn from them all ❤️❤️❤️ thank you especially to the team at @jsheroes.io for making this incredible conference 🙏

So happy to have @danielroe.dev to talk about the human parts of our industry. Technologies final goal is to make us better humans. Loving it so far.

Alex Moldovan@alexmoldovan.dev

Very inspirational talk by @danielroe.dev about the power of open source ❤️ #JSHeroes2026

Companies worth billions of dollars treating security, performance and accessibility as nice-to-haves for years, and here we are folks, pull requests are unsafe now.

Chrome team has amazing people working on it, but leadership has completely lost the plot. As users we need to vote by choosing other products, sadly.

So, Chrome's "web standard" Prompt API: Mozilla: Opposed WebKit: Opposed Microsoft: Several concerns W3C TAG: Several concerns Developers: Mostly negative Chrome: Ships anyway. A sad time for web standards. But, I guess someone at Google will get promoted, so 'every cloud…'

To be fair, I have been using Firefox for more than a decade now. There’s no excuse folks, tons of good browser options, even if you want to keep using the same browser engine.

I had to leave my iPhone mini behind and buy a “normal sized” phone. I hate it so much. The mini had the perfect size.
