Sometimes women were on expeditions! Peary was famously criticised for bringing his wife on one and Inuit women as well as men were invaluable guides and sources of information to the Arctic… “visitors”.

Theres a rich history of female explorers who travelled on their own when they weren’t permitted to travel with the men. We were also inspired by modern day female dog mushers!

We just decided that this was the kind of story we wanted to tell, so some liberties were taken - but they weren’t wholly unprecedented. (Cordell is also our art director Jess’ favourite character)

Women are always in history! We just have to look for them a little harder sometimes (because of who usually writes history and takes credit for it)
