Five years ago, we bought the farm. That cliche turned real, real quick. The first month, we lost our rooster and two peafowl. Since then, predators and illness took cats, horses, and goats. Our lease is up; we need to find a new place and keep helping the cats. Please help. gofund.me/fd1e73c62

I drafted a nice long email for our brother and SIL, took a break before sending it, then poof! it's gonzo. Into the ether. Not in the Drafts. Will rewrite after evening feedings are done (don't tell him; his last reply for $ said "maybe you should rethink all those animals," and yes, but too late?

One last check of the RV boys before turning in. Grabbed the bag of cans to replenish their pantry, sat on porch to put boots on, realized I forgot the kibble, slid first boot on but it was oddly tight. Wrong foot, Joe, you a$$hole (I said to self, then Dr. Rose repeated it later when I told her).

Closer-in-chief. Mariano Rivera out there wishing he this good.

Obama in Ohio! Seriously if you are running in the midterms who would you want as your "closer"... Obama or Trump? Don't BOooo VOTE!

NM: try this 29-year drought yo. Also NM: have a little rain. And some mo. Thunderbolts and lightning. Very very frightening. Hail? Why the hail not? (Pics to follow, late rising today. Been a tough week.)

What's that Mr. Petty always said? The waiting is the hardest part. Anticipation (no, that was Ms. Carly), expecting word back from Trinidad re: kitties and their tutoring. They're fine, I expect.

Little Squirt (left) is too small for this batch but his mama is out there. Bill (the ginger on the RV dashboard) is going up with his twin, Archie (Archie & Mehitabel...too obscure???), and Hanky Panky. First wave is underway, Ashley, Coco Puff Daddy's identical twin son, is inna trap. Next!!!

Ashley, Bill, Archie & Hanky are fasting tonite, getting fixed tomorrow. Thankful the skunk was relocated without incident. (Looney Tunes TBT: "Pew! Pew!" "No, no, no, not Pew. Pepe LePew is my name") Also glad for Elma, our 80yo stray wrangler, who drives them to Trinidad for the spay program.

Please, TX, put him in or NM won't be the last state to have its name "changed".

From your mouth, Mark, to God's ears....where's that blueskie God acct?

With two weeks until Election Day, we are at the intersection of Donald Trump's plan to make it harder for you to vote and easier for him to cheat. When Republicans lose the House and Senate Trump will escalate the attacks. But he will fail and we will win.

Not to hair-shame (but now I will): anyone can open a bottle of bleach and claim they're a blonde, just like it doesn't take a Philadelphia lawyer to know if their mouths are moving, they lying.

Hoodlum 🇺🇸@nothoodlum.bsky.social

Here are 22 times Katie Zacharia blatantly lied about being a lawyer. She’s perfect for the Trump administration. She’s pathological.

Even with the sound off (Dr. Rose has a phone interview at 10), you can hear the jingles. Years ago, we lived in Ohkay Owinge (San Juan in colonial terms....boo yah) and had the honor to see their deer dancers jingle past our house on the way to confluence Chama River and Rio Grande. Magic.

October is Speak Our For Farmed Animals Month! This month we amplify the message that farm animals deserve respect, protection, and that their lives matter. They aren't livestock, they are living beings.

There's no dog like an old dog. This was Helen. We adopted her from Taos Stray Hearts to give her a loving home at the end of her life. It was the best 2 weeks of our lives.

Dog Desk Animal Action@dogdeskaction.bsky.social

OLDER DOGS 🐾 Growing old doesn’t make a dog less deserving of care. Older dogs may need medication, more veterinary support and a little extra help day to day. Your donations help us give them everything they need, for as long as they need it. ❤️

We knew about PAWS back when we lived on Sedgely Ave., hard by the El tracks (yo Northeast!!!), and they're pawesome. Donate to them if you can, and support your local shelter or sanctuary like Blue Rose of Hope Animal Sanctuary.

Kitten season = still going strong! Pistachio, Indy, Hollis & Dirty Dan are stuck in PAWS’ ringworm ward but would rather be home with you. Since under medical isolation, these cuties are desperate for affection, so you’ll have a VERY grateful friend (or 2) if you can help finish their treatment 🧵

Oh, no.....LOL

Did James Talarico tell his grandmother that he thought he might be gay? Oh, no! That was JD Vance! Has James Talarico been in a 15 year mentor-protégé relationship with gay billionaire Peter Thiel? Oh, no! That was JD Vance! Did James Talarico pose in drag? Oh, no! That was JD Vance!

Pearce shouldn't be in charge of a county transfer station. New Mexico kicked his a$$ out but he's obviously perfectly at home in this cabinet.

Todd Achilles | Achilles for Idaho@achillesid.bsky.social

Steve Pearce spent decades trying to sell off our federal lands, saying “we do not even need” most of them. Jim Risch voted to put him in charge anyway. Idaho’s public lands aren’t for sale, and they aren’t Risch’s to give away. Not one acre sold on my watch. Public lands in public hands.
