If we observed just one minute of silence for each land animal slaughtered worldwide in a single day, we would be standing in silence for nearly five centuries. And that doesn't include farmed fish, male chicks killed by the egg industry, or the countless animals who die before reaching slaughter.

Among the many bad things about animal farming (aside from its cruelty and environmental impacts) is the unscientific nonsense it requires us to believe about animals and nature in order for us to be somewhat comfortable with all of those bad things.

If we really want to help, we need to move beyond vague questions and get specific: What can we actually do to save the oceans? The single most serious threat to marine life: industrial fishing and bycatch. The most effective thing we can do: stop consuming animals.

We will never be able to mitigate the #ClimateCrisis the #BiodiversityCrisis and #MassExtinction if we don’t take the global animal industry out of business … and go plant based🌱

We are seeing in real time how great wealth gives great power. We’re also seeing that great wealth is owned by the worst assholes. Don’t you think it’s about time to take a big chunk of that wealth in taxes and spend it meeting peoples basic needs? De-power the assholes.

In case you did not know. Millions of dogs and cats and other pets are killed every year in pounds and shelters because of irresponsible people. Not put to sleep— killed. Now that you know this, why would you go to a pet shop or a breeder to buy a puppy/kitten when you can adopt and save a life?
