A propos of the harm being caused by Trump: In The Return of the King Saruman mocks Frodo regarding the damage done to the Shire, saying: "I have already done much that you will find it hard to mend or undo in your lives.” I just hope the Democrats can find a little box with a “G” on it.

“[James Talarico] was supposed to be here, but we were told in no uncertain terms by our network’s lawyers, who called us directly, that we could not have him on the broadcast,” Colbert said.

Stephen Colbert blasted Brendan Carr after FCC scrutiny led CBS to pull an interview with Texas State Rep James Talarico. Instead, 'The Late Show' posted it to YouTube.

I am thinking that in 2028 a Democratic Congress could pass a bill withdrawing qualified immunity from state prosecution from ICE agents. And that Democrats should let them all know they might be subject to facilitated state action that no Trump pardon could protect them from.

As Michael Dorf has written: “One might wonder whether Congress can waive or modify Supremacy Clause immunity of an individual officer, as opposed to waiving or modify the federal government's own sovereign immunity or the preemptive force of the DCC. Wonder no more. The answer is yes.”

I am so tired of hearing Democratic Congresspeople say, “I’ve had #Republicans come up to me in private and criticize Trump, etc.”. Time to start naming names

Defunding ICE is not enough, they can still move funds around and there is still no accountability. Instead, no ICE funding unless: 1. All federal agents forbidden from obscuring their identity (masks etc) 2. Waive immunity from State laws and state court prosecutions and tort suits.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune offers an expert, frame-by-frame analysis of the events leading to the death of Renee Nicole Good and immediately thereafter. (1) There is no ambiguity or doubt about what happened. (2) The claims made by Trump, Vance and Noem are categorically false in every detail.

startribune.comBreaking down the videos: A close examination of the shooting of Renee GoodIn just seconds, an encounter with ICE agents turned deadly. The Star Tribune examined the video evidence frame by frame.

The obvious critique I have not heard explicitly articulated is that the point of making a self defense argument would be saying “but for” his shooting her, she would have killed him. Clearly, had he not shot Good the outcome for HIM would have been just the same - i.e. no threat to his life

@nytimes.com is hopeless! Puts it story on the No Kings protest on p. 23 of print edition. Online it gives it same weight as a story on Vance speaking at a military base in CA. 7 million protesters with the same weight as a couch f—er!
