I've said it before about other movies but you REALLY have NEVER seen ANYTHING quite like this one. HOUSE (1977), tonight at 2:00 AM (or 2:15 AM depending on which schedule you look at) on #TCM. #classicmovies #TCMimports #stayuplate #setthedvr

I haven't seen it but it's got three things in its favor: Richard Basehart, Robert Wise and San Francisco. THE HOUSE ON TELEGRAPH HILL (1951), tonight at 12:00 AM on #TCM. #classicmovies #filmnoir #noiralley

"...a drama that builds to a fever pitch of tension and holds itself there with superlative artistry." -The Hollywood Reporter Olivia de Havilland received an Oscar nomination for her performance in this uncompromising film. THE SNAKE PIT (1948), tonight at 8:00 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies

Mary Astor and Bette Davis. Two greats doing great things together. Not to slight George Brent! I find him a little bland but I love him anyway. THE GREAT LIE (1941), tonight at 11:30 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies

I haven't seen this one but I remember being devastated by the story. Can't imagine what this would do to me, especially with Myrna Loy involved. THE RED PONY (1949), tonight at 11:00 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies

Two Marlene's are better than one, especially when she was working with greats like Wilder and Hitchcock. WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION (1957) tonight at 8:00 PM and STAGE FRIGHT (1950) at 10:15, both on #TCM. (STAGE FRIGHT is a bit underrated IMHO). #classicmovies

The “Becoming Hitchcock”doc on #TCM tonight is excellent if you prefer early B/W Hitchcock (like me) & even if you prefer his later color movies. Ivor N. shows up for a second, ripping a table apart, in a scene from a movie Hitchcock didn’t direct, but otherwise, it’s very good! #tcmparty

This is why I gave up on the NY Times. Patrick Healy’s attitude is the personification of what Mark Jacob is complaining about.

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.

"One of the most powerful films ever made about the need for humanity and solidarity in the face of cruelty and oppression." -Tom Huddleston, Time Out Taking that view, this one is certainly timely. FREAKS (1932), today at 6:45 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies #precode

This is a great movie but Ingrid Bergman's performance is so great in it - it earned her an Oscar - that I have difficulty watching it again. GASLIGHT (1944), tonight at 8:00 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies #oscarwinner

So beautiful, so dangerous. The scene on the lake is still shocking, even by today's standards. You know the one I mean. LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN (1945), tonight at 9:45 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies

Were there ever 2 more charming and sophisticated movie-solving couples than Nick and Nora Charles? See all 6 of their Thin Man movies tonight on #TCM beginning at 8:00 PM with THE THIN MAN (1936). #classicmovies #starofthemonth

Two Bette Davis's are better than one! This movie is great fun. DEAD RINGER (1964), today at 3:30 PM on #TCM. Followed by the equally delicious THE BAD SEED (1956) at 5:30 PM. I met star Patty McCormack on the red carpet at #TCMFF 2019. She didn't try to kill me. #classicmovies

I've seen both of these remarkable films, both from remarkable directors, at #TCMFF. THE ASPHALT JUNGLE (1950), today at 6:00 PM and NIGHTS OF CABIRIA (1957) tonight at 8:00 PM, both on #TCM. #classicmovies

I hope to watch the 2nd movie with insight from the 1st. Both are #newtome BOORMAN AND THE DEVIL (2025), tonight at 8:00 PM and EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC (1977) at 10:00, both on #TCM. #classicmovies

I haven't seen it but I love a good Agatha Christie mystery. This one has a great cast. AND THEN THERE WERE NONE (1945), tonight at 8:00 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies #murdermystery #whodunnit #murderatthemovies

Don't tell Nick and Nora Charles that William Powell and Myrna Loy are seeing one another as Bill Chandler and Connie Allenbury behind their backs in LIBELED LADY (1936), tonight at 8:00 PM on #TCM. The cast is cherce. #classicmovies #screwballcomedy #starofthemonth

I saw this at #TCMFF 2018 with live accompaniment. Lon Chaney is remarkable in it. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1925), tonight at 11:45 on #TCM. #classicmovies #silentmovies #filmsonfilm

Celebrate Silent Movie Day with THE THREE MUSKETEERS (1921) at 8:00 PM, THE MARK OF ZORRO (1920) at 10:30 PM, THE SEA HAWK (1924) at 12:30 AM, and more! All on #TCM. #classicmovies #silentmovies #silentmovieday

In this delightful French comedy, Jaccques Tati's Mr. Hulot takes a well deserved vacation. Nominated for an Oscar:Best Writing, Story and Screenplay, Jacques Tati and Henri Marquet. MR. HULOT'S HOLIDAY (1953), today at 6:15 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies #oscarnominee #frenchfilm

Back to back tonight on #TCM, two films from Billy Wilder. The first I can watch over and over again, the second is so bleak that I don't know if I can watch it again. SOME LIKE IT HOT (1959) at 10:00 PM and ACE IN THE HOLE (1951) at 12:30 AM. #classicmovies #filmnoir #noiralley

This documentary sounds really interesting. From IMDb: "A look at the parallel lives of Charles Chaplin and Adolf Hitler and how they crossed with the creation of THE GREAT DICTATOR." THE TRAMP AND THE DICTATOR (2002), tonight at 8:00 PM on #TCM, followed by THE GREAT DICTATOR (1940) at 9:00.

My first film at my first #TCMFF, 2011. Robert Osborne and Leslie Caron introduced it. What a thrill! And boy did it look great at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (1951), today at 6:00 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies #moviemusical

A devastating look at life during wartime and Best Picture Oscar winner MRS. MINIVER (1942), today at 5:45 PM on #TCM. Oscars also went to Greer Garson, Teresa Wright, William Wyler, Joseph Ruttenberg/cinematography & George Froeschel, James Hilton, Claudine West, Arthur Wimperis/screenplay.

I haven't seen it but, judging by some of the stills, we may get to see some of #starofthemonth Ricardo Montalban's beautiful body. Sorry to be so shallow. Also starring Clark Gable & directed by William Wellman. ACROSS THE WIDE MISSOURI (1951), tonight at 8:00 PM on #TCM. #classicmovies
