It is obvious but worth repeating that regimes built on lies survive only as long as they can suppress truth. The promotion of complicit media (alternative facts) & denigration of objective media (facts) is not just desirable but essential. This process is being turbo-charged in the USA right now.

Out of the many options for navigation in a multiplatform context, what would the obvious choice be if you want something stable and "feature complete"? And are there any of the options which makes navigating "behave natively" on iOS specifically? #cmp #multiplatform

Using the mangle* in our communal laundry** made me realize that there's been little to no innovation, or technological advancement in the 40 years since I last used one. In fact, making it electric just made it more failure prone. *The sheet-flattening thing **Laundry room but with communism

Hiring ancient developers like myself will ensure your UI scales well enough to encompass accessibility-resized text. Ignoring the need for glasses once your vision degrades, means scaling up the text. Apps are awful at handling this.

About living in Sweden: 👍 -> social welfare system 👎 -> "what's new in Pixel" showing Pixel Studio and fun new stickers you can make for GBoard. If you live in X, Y or Z markets. Classic Google. Just don't show me "the fun things" if you're not going to let me use them.

I don't think there's anyone who has used Bluetooth that would say that it's a nice technology from a user perspective. But why is this such a bad user experience and why has it not been fixed in the 25 years it has been around? The only exception is Apple, so it is possible to get it right.

The low budget PVC Christmas tree just collapsed on itself this morning. Snapped in half, it had enough. I get it though, we didn't really make an effort. They felt less than. The upside is that new PVC trees are on huge sales just before Christmas. More disappointment to come. Stay tuned

Fucking grim.

For British trans people: You legally are owed healthcare If your GP says no and you can afford it, sue them If you can't, then ask to see someone else and write the most brutal middle class sounding complaint you can They are not allowed to deny you trans healthcare

Getting a "test-device" from work is great. ✌️ When the "test-device" is a robot lawnmower and you live in a flat, you have to get creative. 🎨 Easy, remove blades to save the dog, and carpets🔪 Hard, use imagination to solve the "gps indoors"-issue 🛰️

Who's tried #nematodes for #gnats or #thrips? I'm at a point in my plant journey where I'm ready to fight the things that eat my plants, with things that eat the things. #philodendrons #aroids #houseplants

My feed is (guesstimating) 40% software 40% trans (& lgbt+) 20% other, still nice stuff perfect, and a direct result of following more or less the same people from the other place. The other place was 20% software 20% trans (& lgbt+) 60% other, worst dumpster fire of content you can imagine.

☝️Foliage spray: Water+insecticidal soap+alcohol -> spray the leaves ✌️Soil treatment: First do a "dunk" with hydrogen peroxide to eliminate any eggs or larva Secondly water with neem-cake water, for some long term treatment Repeat every 3 days for 2 weeks. #pestcontrol #thrips #mites #gnats

Shooting CEOs is probably not a sustainable path towards "free healthcare"* but as a Swede i can only imagine how scary getting sick in America must be, for most of that population. *tax funded

Confluence must be the worst tool for documentation out there? Every time I want to add a snippet of code, the out-of-the-box support is absolute rubbish. And that's just one of the many shit things. It's been a week
