the theme of 2026 movie releases seems to be questioning the faith we put in the camera and our response to it (digger, you can see everything, history of concrete, possible love) which makes it all the more funny that the social reckoning came out now

we're going to texas in search of religious tolerance? that's gonna be like trying to get falsity to tell the truth

this is how your swe friends look at you when you draw something for them and they ask you what prompt or what model you used to generate it and you clarify that actually you drew it yourself by hand

Following the unexpected success of "Obsession", Hollywood producers are now looking for more cartoon plot tropes to turn into horror movies.

us car market: look at all of these wonderful makes and models from all sorts of different counties, each with their own ethos. and the best one? buddy... that's up to you. us phone market: there is a single option and if you pick anything else most people will think you're a jackass

as someone who didn't have cable and mainly grew up on mario let's play videos and bfdi, the cathode ray mission from videodrome and its thesis that pop culture is just as important of a necessity as food if people want to integrate into society really resonated with me. yup i can confirm

funny to have watched videodrome for the first time like a week before seeing digger, which has i think the complete opposite thesis on the role of art in the real world. everyone should watch digger btw #dighead

first sentence of the wikipedia page for the song take me out to the ball game is them outing the writers as larpers

i think it's silly when people review a comedy, usually animated, and criticize it for relying on sex jokes. i hate sex as much as the next guy and you can question its thematic appropriateness but people imply simply doing a comedy themed around a single concept is objectively bad joke writing.

some of the most challenging comedies are themed around a single concept! so it's more productive to critique the format of the jokes (timing, delivery, payoffs) rather than their contents. don't just sarcastically say "this show be like lol sex lol" and leave it at that.

[through tears] i hope that every time you wipe there's always the EXACT amount of poop on the paper for you to think you need to wipe just one more time

ik persona was never really gameplay-forward but it's jarring to have just finished p3, where even its watered down version of press turn at least had some higher thematic purpose, to having those mechanics get diluted across two games and remakes until you make the game play itself

there's gonna be a peaceful difficulty option. i guess there's less hype moments and aura that way but i would rather they just focus on that than making it feel like you are playing a frictionless technology product each time the game doesn't even let you miss an attack

witnessing the birth of a new all timer post is such a beautiful thing

this is disgusting and heretical. why don't catholics use leavened bread.

“you get those photos for the weed communion wafers ad?” “sure did, boss. real sexy, just like you asked.”

board of directors at anthropic solemnly watching the verity music video, dario walks up on stage and says "this is what we must avoid."

sometimes you walk past a vacant one-story office building in an unassuming business park in the middle of suburbia and it makes you yearn for the timeline where you spent your summer starting a scrappy early 90's computer startup with your friends that publishes disk defragmenters in big boxes

if the idea is to keep the player engaged you can do that just as effectively by having party members shout banter about how awesome they are or by putting subway surfers gameplay in the corner of the battle ui

crazy to say but yiik had the right idea. in execution it was arduous to play, but you could tell yiik was going for a system where minigame skill directly correlated to battle performance, unlike a lot of action command rpgs where the ethos boils down to giving your thumbs something to do

okay parrying/guarding enemy attacks can stay. those are digetic and require trial and error. same with, like, the special moves in paper mario ttyd because there's actually some risk of failure there. but then you have regular attacks being "press a at the right time" or "tilt the control stick"

and it's like what's the point. there is no way you are going to mess those up after your first attempt, if even that, so why even bother. even for more complex action commands like pressing a sequence of buttons it feels like this. i can see the buttons i need to press on screen.

NEW COMIC STUDIO BETA OUT NOW!!! the creator has been rewritten from the ground up with some new features, including: - drawing mode - layers - transparency comic.studio/creator there's gonna be a bunch of issues, so let me know what you think <3

as someone who never really engaged with it outside of the finale i always get a little tickled when tadc fans complain about the finale having too much jax bc the scene with them opening up to the frog about killing their mom was the scene from that ep that broke the mold the most to me

idk i liked how the first person camera forced us to confide in her room rather than in jax. when you're spilling your guts you save an indelible memory of the place you're doing that in & that's the only animation i watched so far that portrays randomly remembering decor of a college friend's dorm
