The real “adulting” challenge isn’t buying stamps at the Post Office to mail a rent check, it’s walking past a bunch of amazing-smelling restaurants with their doors open on your way home to cook a cheap dinner.

Going live from the new studio (though still on cellular internet until the ISP comes by)! Let’s carve some spiderwebs into the streets of the HermitCraft shopping district at twitch.tv/joehills

Temporarily shutting down my websites, since I was about to move them to new servers next week anyway and updating php in place is a hassle I don't have time for in the middle of my studio move. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Ran into some issues with the move today and I am too wiped out to stream, so tonight’s show is cancelled. Hopefully tomorrow will go better.

@gruber.foo any leads on why @iconfactory.com has increased the tapestry monthly price by 150%? Are the feed items syndicated through the Strait of Hormuz?

I forgot what I was wearing when I complimented a clerk at a local business on their many Halloween decorations. She squints at my black-embroidery-on-black “No Whimsy” hat, then looks me in the eyes and says, “YOU like our Halloween decorations?”

Early voting in Tennessee starts on Wednesday: do you know who is on the ballot? We've got your comprehensive voter guide from governor at the top of the ballot through down ballot races.

I’ll be playing Project Zomboid with Pasta and friends next weekend!

Everyone’s horrified about evangelicals glorifying a public execution when like their whole religion is glorifying a public execution

So, how inconvenient is it for an everyday trucker to fill up with dyed diesel? It seems like most truck stops wouldn’t carry it, right?

Let's flood Jevin's bay with CubFan135 and other pals! www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOOo...

If you enjoy watching folks improve at HermitCraft mini-games, you're in luck! I have so much room for improvement on Cub's golf course. New episode at: youtu.be/q76uiv5vZi4

Me: It’s October 1st! I can finally spend money on Halloween decorations! Costco: I am altering the year... pray I don’t alter it any further.

Me and the 9 games that shaped me: Joe Hills & Final Fantasy VI Hugo’s House of Horrors Nethack ポケットモンスター 銀 Roller Coaster Tycoon Sonic The Hedgehog Space Cadet Pinball Super Smash Bros Team Fortress

This feels about right to me.

I feel the same way about r/castleTV and r/newcastle

If your event website asks people for RSVPs, clicking the RSVP button should allow visitors to enter a variety of appropriate responses to an invitation, not lock them in as a yes. Allowing invitees to send regrets is a baseline functionality that lets hosts know if their invites went out at all.

@mottithecryptid.bsky.social thanks for organizing the October 2nd Nashville event! For some reason the twitch meetup RSVP function doesn’t allow sending regrets but unfortunately that evening is during Tennessee Game Days and I won’t be able to attend. I hope I can make it next time! Have fun!

We hit 100° today which breaks the daily record high of 97° set in 1954. This is a separate update from yesterday, and not a duplicate. This is the 6th time we’ve hit triple digits this month. Insert elmofire.gif here.

It was this hot this late in 2019. It will happen again. I think we need to abandon the “close pools on Labor Day” practice and use weather data to make the call

So close.

Report Reveals Jesus Christ May Have Benefited From Father’s Influential Position To Gain High-Powered Role As Lord And Savior https://theonion.com/report-reveals-jesus-christ-may-have-benefited-from-fat-1833717521/

Extremely youth pastor voice: Of course we all love the works of Jack Quaid, Jared Harris, and Maya Hawke… but today I want to talk to you about the original nepo baby with a famously CREATIVE father. That’s right… Jesus Christ.

I attended a Drink and Draw charity art event at Dice and Comics Cafe in Seoul. The theme was Batman, so I put him in a Bat Book Club.

Check out the first draft of my entry in the upcoming To Kilt a Tango contest! Featuring artwork by Luigra! youtu.be/7rSBLM2-90A

I've recommended Dennis E. Taylor's Bobiverse series of funny engineering sci-fi novels for years, but the final few chapters of his newly-released sixth book in the series has cemented for me that this is a must-read for anyone with a similar sense of humor to mine. I've been cry-cackling so much.

As I age, I'm increasingly aware of many nuanced and varied distinctions between "I'm doing things" and "I'm getting things done."

I'm buried in embargoed footage I need to edit tonight, so I'm removing the stream from the schedule to try to get my episode (revealing some artwork I commissioned Luigra to make) out at the same day as other folks. Should be a good one!
