Or… maybe I spoke too soon on Whit playing it straight. 🤦‍♂️

Michigan HC Kyle Whittingham on Bryce Underwood potentially playing against Indiana: “Maybe he's the starter. Who knows? I don't know. I do know. You don't know.” 247sports.com/college/mich...

@benmathislilley.bsky.social @mgoseth.bsky.social re: your exchange on benching Bryce, I think I at least respect Whit for playing it straight. He’s not keeping Bryce in there to take $ critiques as a human PR shield. And if Bryce wants to stick around, maybe there’s a growth track?

Dan Why-Ner@danweiner.bsky.social

I think at this point Sark continues to defend Arch because Arch is the one who takes the brunt of the criticism for Sark's failings.

OTOH if Bryce wants to transfer to UCLA, maybe that no longer constitutes telling on himself 😂. I hope he succeeds and I hope it’s at Michigan.

Good morning election workers. May your spoileds be few, your challengers amiable, your pens unleaky, your lines short, your bagels warm, and may all your signatures be legible.

2. Fire your respective money cannons at the ~$150k that remains to goal. 3. Bask in the well-earned feeling of smug and satisfied tranquility that comes from knowing your name will be in that magnificent tome.

4. Make sure you get the slipcase so that your mated pair of literary trophies that go burr finally stop falling down on your bookshelf. 5. Buy an extra copy for that friend who won’t properly love themselves but deserves this glory.

-they win by fewer than 30 points -they did it with two players having very high usage -they had assists on fewer than half their makes Hardly a “crushing”, ESPN. Decent win for Detroit. Is it possible that watching the National Champion 2026 Michigan Men’s Basketball team has broken my brain?

Also the only thing funnier than Tolu Smith’s playoff billion is seeing that LeVert got a special callout next to Huerter for being the only non-injured guy on the roster not to see the floor. Feels like ESPN’s way of saying “we all saw you take that shot, Caris. At least Kevin is hurt.”

Listen. I’m no expert on basketball, and certainly not on the pro game. But it seems like shooting might be important. Note to my Pistons for next year. Or ever.

more and more people are saying fear is the mind killer. folks, the people they—and by the way, very bad deal for the Bene Gesserit, very unfair for the Reverend Mother Superior—there's a box. you put your finger in there. just one finger [makes squished face] not me. i wouldn't feel the pain

Kudos to Trent Green for highlighting the notion that the only non-sickos watching this Giants-Raiders game are the players on the field, and to the camera operator and broadcast director for serving up a shot of Geno looking up from his back on the turf as Harlan touts his leading the NFL in INTs.

My 41-year old self is both amazed and amused that my 19 year old self worked overnight shifts at two jobs, only one of which I was moderately good at, managed (sometimes barely) not to fail out of school, and routinely brought home very good tips including from customers I literally forgot.

So I guess I’m saying, in the spirit of the season, that people are inherently good, wishing for peace on Earth, etc. Or at least for good life experiences, kind coworkers, and goodwill toward the cool managers, the Mexican cooks, the crazy Georges and the persevering customers through our lives.

…before George, the eccentric and bemulleted perennial top-selling server, would insist that company policy be upheld and Christmas music be restored. That’s when those of us still left would: 1. Remember that we smoked and take the longest possible cigarette breaks

2. Spend as much time as possible in the kitchen doing side work, because the exclusively Spanish-speaking cooks always played awesome music. Reflecting on it now, I like that the management evidently understood there was no percentage in pissing off the cooks.

When they’d start cutting sections around 1:30 am on a weeknight with a 4:00 am close, we’d start lobbying the cooler managers to let us listen to something else. On the rare occasions they relented, we’d get 3 or 4 normal songs…

I know people want Michigan to schedule tougher nonconference games but I'm trying to get my football work done the week of The Game so I can spend time with my family on Thanksgiving so a blowout over some overmatched WCC team was just the thing tonight.

I forgot I’m watching this game on about an hour delay. So that comment was after a first half of nonstop Pearl on Pearl nepo action. Now I’m into the second half with Jalen and CWebb in the mix after talking cash shit through halftime. Now we’re onto fab five stories because the game is a laugher.

In the festive meal one is required to eat a minimal amount of side dishes and each dish must be made by a separate household. It is asked if one is required to eat a Midwest Salad. And the sages answer, in all lands a salad is a mixture of vegetables, in the Midwest it is a mixture of any food.

To the starving man, the toasted is the greater Mitzvah, as cooked meat is of more value to him than a lamb. To the neighbor in poverty, the untoasted is the greater Mitzvah, as a share of a living lamb may, by his labor, fill his table when it is most needed. Food is life, and life is good.
