Doing retirement badly. Treasurer/bookkeeper/accounting guy. US Air Force veteran who’s been called anti-American. Regular churchgoer who’s been called anti-Christian. Got a meteorology degree later in life for the hell of it. Really.

I received the $90 Medicare Part B deposit this morning. The one that will add $2 billion to the deficit. Young people...this is your moment. VOTE, damn it!!! You can outvote the geezers like me if you just show up and VOTE. YOU will be the ones ultimately dealing with that $2 billion.

Today while entering a hardware store I saw a vehicle with a bumper sticker showing "I've never met a veteran who fought for Socialism." I wanted to introduce myself to the driver, but we never met. I did see him leave the store when he drove his vehicle on...A STATE ROAD!! The irony.

Here's what the orange one and his pals have done to international travel.. American Airlines used to have daily five flights from London-Heathrow to New York-JFK. All 777s. Today I noticed American now has only three flights from Heathrow to JFK. Two 777s and a 787. Elections do indeed matter.

And there we have it. "I wasn't crazy about it, it was Pete's idea." Always throwing someone else under the bus. Never taking responsibility for anything that's going badly.

Trump blames Hegseth for the war: "Pete, I think you were the first one to speak up. You said, 'Let's do it.'"

“Unconditional surrender” was the Allies’ demand in WWII. They backed it up by occupying Germany, Italy and Japan. Is Trump prepared to send hundreds of thousands of troops to occupy Iran, a nation of 93 million people, and to risk the resulting casualties? If not, this is simply bluster.

For high school seniors, some of your classmates may bray about how great this war with Iran is. Fine. Ask them what their enlistment date is. If this war is so great, shouldn't they be eager to be a part of it?

Fox News personalities Will Cain, Laura Ingraham, Jesse Watters, Sean Hannity and Greg Gutfeld will no doubt praise the war with Iran. They may even question the patriotism of those, including veterans, who feel this is a war of choice. Remember that ALL of them REFUSED to serve in the US military.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." -Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1953

Many have referred to ICE and members of this administration as Nazis. I prefer Stalinists. If you look at what happened in the old USSR during Stalin's time, you'll see numerous similarities to the Trump administration and today's Republican party.

I've recently applied for Medicare part B, a Medigap plan, and a drug plan. Medicare is through the government and was an easy application. Medigap was through Blue Cross and also easy. The drug plan? Through a for profit insurance company and complex. Phone transfer after phone transfer.

People who don't know (or care) what's happening. Constantly trying to sell me something I don't need. We need Medicare for All and we need to get for-profit insurers out of the health insurance process. Yes, the government's process was the MOST efficient. For-profit was the LEAST efficient.

You know what’s “hilarious”? Here I am, a guy who served as a US Air Force officer during the Cold War. And here’s the speaker of the US House (who never served in uniform) saying I “hate America” and am a “Marxist”. Sorry, Mikey, but you might be projecting just a wee bit.

SCOOP — Part of the reason Disney/ABC may have rushed to sort things out with Kimmel is because tomorrow they have a planned price increase for Disney+ streaming, a Disney source tells me. With subscriptions hemorrhaging since last week, they couldn’t risk losing more users with this announcement.

Brendan Carr threatening ABC on Benny Johnson's podcast reminds us it was just a year ago we learned that Johnson and other high-profile right-wing podcasters were LITERALLY ON THE KREMLIN PAYROLL and everyone on the right said "Eh, whatever, no biggie" and they're still doing their thing.

So WHO pays the tariffs again? This won't affect most, but in the ham radio world Icom just raised their prices 15% to 25% on radios. Not a gradual increase, a "BAM" step increase. The increaes are being passed on by the retailers. WE pay the tariffs people! Glad I got mine back in March.

i just checked Harrisburg area media outlets for the Jimmy Kimmel story. Interesting trend. WHTM (owned by Nexstar seeking to merge with Tegna) – Nothing on the homepage WPMT (owned by Tegna with whom Nexstar seeks to merge) – Nothing on the homepage WGAL, WHP, Pennlive – Homepage mentions

This is some serious Viktor Orban shit. Get your allies to buy up as much of the media as they can, and then bully and intimidate the rest

How bad is the news media in south-central PA (Harrisburg)? Election denier Heather Honey is from Lebanon County, right here in south-central PA. Did the local news media cover it? Only through an AP article. No local reporter covered the story. They don't want people to know she's local.

Whether it's Barack Obama asking for Dijon mustard from a hotdog vendor or Donald Trump asking for a happy ending from an underage sex slave masseuse, both presidents made some provocative requests.

Too bad the United States doesn't have a 24/7 TV service in Farsi to counter the propaganda of the Islamic Republic and inform the people of Iran of the facts. Kari Lake, perhaps, we could call it the Voice of America.

And there you have it.

Really important story - army officials asked soldiers to identify themselves if they don't agree with Trump's politics that way he'd get only supportive soldiers in uniform during his political rally on base. Heavier soldiers were also barred from participating.
