Mark Twain coined the term "Gilded Age" to describe post-Civil War America (roughly 1870–1900). An era that glittered on the surface with rapid industrialization and vast wealth, but was rotten underneath with severe income inequality, political corruption, and exploitation of the working class.

ICYMI: In a major victory for student voters, a federal judge blocked Indiana’s ban on the use of student IDs for voter identification. “There is no evidence that student IDs have been used to engage in voter fraud or any other voting-related misconduct,” the court concluded.

This is important.

The Republican Party is telling us, with brimming confidence and zero shame, that it intends to make it harder for its opponents to vote and easier to control the outcome of elections. They are prepared to use every tool available to them — legal or not — to stay in power.

It’s hard to believe that one man can cause so much stress, so much fear, so much pain and suffering…a man who took an oath to preserve and protect our Constitution. This man, who is inciting terror across our land, must be removed from office. In a sane world, it would happen immediately.

What we’re being told is that a guy who is an adjudicated rapist, who was credibly accused of sexual assault by dozens of women, who paid hush money to a porn star, who cheated on all his wives, who is mentioned hundreds of times in the Epstein files, couldn’t possibly be a sexual predator.

Imagine dismantling the only federal agency dedicated to uplifting minority businesses— That’s exactly what Trump did. The MBDA went from nearly 100 employees to just a few. You don’t gut an agency like that unless you’re trying to kill its mission.
