Great article. The most corrupt White House in history sees corruption is topping the midterm polls and just blame it on Somalis from Minnesota and other terrible people like journalists

This was already a strange policy. But then the anger in the room turned personal and at times genuinely frightening, writes Holly Baxter trib.al/qTYexgk

What is so important to the ultra-rich that they must seize and destroy the world's resources, hold down wages and crush organised labour, capture politics to reduce the tax they pay, fund the far right to stifle democracy? Here's an answer. A Hermes Birkin 35 Diamond Bag. On sale for £449,555.68

Neoliberalism in a nutshell. UEFA on FIFA's proposal: “The moment external investors acquire ownership interests ... football changes forever. Commercial return becomes a permanent obligation. ... Every decision is no longer driven by what best serves the game, but by what best serves shareholders.”

During the first installment of NY1’s new exclusive series, “Out of Office with the Mayor,” Mayor Zohran Mamdani and members of his staff showed off their soccer skills on the Gracie Mansion lawn — where the mayor has been hosting pickup soccer matches with New Yorkers.

What’s that, Dale? You want to give me an unconditional personal gift of £5million to do whatever I want with? Sure! I just need to fill out a form. If I didn’t declare it that would be silly.

Interesting from Magyar/Tisza - plans to Introduce a 1% annual (marginal) wealth tax on assets above 1 billion forints (about £2.3 million). Pretty significant coming from a centre-right party. It's pitched as a billionaire wealth tax to cut taxes for lower earners and an issue of fairness.

The narrative about London crime is truly so BORING to Londoners. Those of us who walk & travel around our city safely every day, every night. The likeliest daily risk to Londoners is of being ripped off by our landlord or somewhere charging us £4.50 for a coffee. #r4today

Arresting 400+ people for the "terrorist" offence of protesting against mass murder while large segments of the right are openly encouraging riots against immigrants is a tale of a very unhappy country and government.

Fascism is now in the algorithms, the neural pathways, the social interactions. How did we fail to see all this? “We wanted to see Trump in terms of his absences, so that our way of seeing the world would go unchallenged,” Timothy Snyder writes.

There is an alternative to Government welfare cuts - a 2% tax on wealth. There is no shortage of money here, we just need a fairer approach to tax - take more from the few not the many.
