I'm a little okay with the Orion Syndicate since D'vanna Tendi's little sister runs part of it.

Birds Are Dinosaurs@birdsaredinosaurs.bsky.social

I disavow the Dominion, the Borg Collective, the Terran Empire, the Ferengi Commerce Authority, the Pah-Wraiths, the House of Duras, the crew of the Botany Bay, the Orion Syndicate, Section 31, the Tal Shiar, and Dr Chaotica.

I'm 90% sure he could just wait a bit and find her at a lesbian bar.

The Flash battles an alien who is disguised as a bad-ass Roller Derby Girl and plans to destroy the Earth. On his way to visit his hippy friends in a commune, Kid Flash discovers a local millionaire is killing people with cheap, chemically treated poultry. - The Flash #211, Dec 1971

I'm recalling a Knights of the Dinner Table comic about "Dark Roleplaying Games." GM: It's dark. Really dark. Pitch black. Player: Is this dark roleplaying? GM: Roll a Dex save to avoid stubbed toe...

You should consider playing Ultima 4. It's free on GOG and the first CRPG with a plot other than "kill things and get treasure to fight the Dark Lord Whatshisface." Instead your goal is to become a fantasy land's Jesus-Bhuddha. Character creation is a series of moral dilemma questions.

Majuular's Ultima Retrospective - especially the recent UO episode - is approaching levels of importance beyond itself. I'm not sure a video series like this has ever made me feel this way about a bunch of games I've never played or ever will play.

"It's okay, Spider-Man. Just remember to ask yourself which of the billionaires in their special "on strike" town would be maintaining the sewers, taking out the garbage or doing colonoscopies. You'll get it..."

The film is pretty good. Not perfect. Like a couple-three good episodes put together. It's still worth watching.

Finished season 3 of The Mandalorian. Probably the weakest season. Some OK episodes, some great. Looking forward to giving the film a watch over the weekend.

NGL, one of my first critiques of the RE movies was "These would be so much better if they were about normal people trying (and mostly failing) to survive this awful shit instead of supersoldier supercops (and Paul W. S. Anderson's supermodel, supersoldier superwife)."

The "I'm mad about Resident Evil because it doesn't have enough game lore" guys are so funny. Are you not aware that the game lore is terrible?? I thought we all were playing these games for the gameplay and then just barely tolerating the cutscenes

I mean, she's probably not wrong about that. I mean the choice is probably "Well, you can play Rogue in the MCU for the next ten years or show your boobs while getting murdered in horror movies for less money."

I do wonder if actors on the verge of breaking out (like Inde Navarrette) make the calculation that it’s best to take that superhero money and sign away 5 or 10 years because they will probably be able to make whatever career choices they want after that.

You were lucky. I'm still on X. I got spoiled by posts like "Someone explain the inconsistency of [thing explained in the movie to the people who spared half an eye away from their phones to watch the movie]"

New Spider-Man was excellent. It's not going to change your mind if you're way past sick of superheroes but damn, they're still making some good ones of these. I somehow made it in completely unspoiled on who the villain was and I wouldn't have gotten it in 100 guesses so that was pretty cool.

No idea where it's from but I recall a quote to the effect of, "The best defense is a good offense. And the best offense is a good defenestration." Not sure why throwing someone out a window is the "best" offense, but I'll go with it.

John Orquiola@backofthehead.bsky.social

Proud to have worked the word 'defenestration' into a Star Trek article. Still remember some of the old high school Latin.

Still amazing Blade was cancelled. There's a badass black dude wearing shades and an overcoat. He kills the shit out of vampires. One vamp want to do Something Really Bad. Blade kills his way through other vamps to get to that guy. Movie done.

Lot of Internet People™️ are convinced Marvel’s gonna announce the new X-Men cast today. Is it possible? I guess. Would they announce the cast of a movie we won’t even get to watch for another five years? Ask Mahershala Ali.

I want to say 2073. I remember doing some editing for a guy doing a take on the Universal film monsters starting with Dracula from 1931 and the copyrights last 96 years.

John Orquiola@backofthehead.bsky.social

I don't know when Star Wars becomes public domain, but fuck it. If I'm still alive, I'm gonna do the story where none of that shit happened. Anakin and Padme stayed together, raised Luke and Leia, they were a family, and we'll see what happens from there.

You can say it when telling someone else to piss off, though. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG7d...

I recognize that it's low on the list of the poor choices made in "Encounter at Farpoint," but I've always hated that Riker ends his conversation with Groppler Zorn (ugh, that name) by saying "good morning." I don't care if it's the 24th century, you do not say "good morning" when you're leaving.

Give this a repost if you can. Not for clicks, I'm not monetized, that doesn't matter. Repost to share this - the hate fades. The anger dulls. The future we dream of doesn't happen accidentally. It happens by choice. A platform is as powerful as we make it. Happy Sunday :)

I've started the first episode. Right now it looks like Holly Hunter's character is putting two people in prison so she can steal a child like in Raising Arizona.

This is the first parody song where the algorithm has done me dirty and is painfully underperforming compared to the previous more recent ones. So if you didn’t know this came out, give it a watch! I’m very proud of it 🖖🏼😊 youtu.be/jvEJSlV9Tbc

The best bit is that national endorsements are probably irrelevant because Mamdani is pretty focused on being the mayor of NYC and doesn't really care much about other issues.
