For Frankie Stein, she's a 12-year-old oddball, with no friends and a penchant for collecting deceased animals (and using them to revivify a friend just for her). The Birthday Massacre and other goth rock style fits nicely for Frankie. #LateNightWrite

And since I am on that horror kick, another book from childhood I liked was The Thief of Always by Clive Barker. #kidlitchat

Goosebumps and other R.L. Stine stories were also big during my childhood. I've gotten back into them quite a bit recently since they are getting graphic novel treatments. Really just gotten back into horror in general, even with my own graphic novel pitches. #kidlitchat

The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke and the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman were some of my favorites. I also like collecting books, so I managed to grab some nice first editions of the Pullman trilogy. Also enjoyed I Was a Rat, by Pullman as well. #kidlitchat
