724: Ask Dan Abramov Anything About AT Proto If you're like Chris and understand a bit of the tech behind AT Proto but want to understand it at a deeper level, this episode is for you. How does it differ from straight up RSS and Mastodon, where is my identity being stored, how do I create a…
Rebuilt my site with Fable 5 over the last few weeks. It’s crazy how good Claude’s gotten over the last year. I made a living page that goes into how the site works. I am trying to make it as non-dev friendly as possible. #webdev #buildinpublic #astro #claude

Episode 15 of the @deepdishswift.com podcast is out! 🍕 In this one, @kaidombrowski.com and I chat with @matthewcassinelli.bsky.social about Shortcuts and App Intents, his background in marketing, and his journey to joining the Workflow team 📱 podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/s... #DeepDishSwift
So, I just found @raycast.com last week and had an idea for an extension. I have a custom GPT I made to help me turn CSV files from our Amazon sales data into a better format with totals for ASINs and trimming titles. So far so good! Not quite webdev, but it’s .tsx so…? #webdev #buildinpublic

Two column menus are supported in Shortcut Menus! This was a tricky one. shortcut-menus.jpshlk.com #webdev #buildinpublic
@the-coder-guy.bsky.social Any update on being able to change profile pictures? Or can you delete my profile and I can re-add it?
I got drag & drop working for menu items! #webdev #buildinpublic shortcut-menus.jpshlk.com
Super stoked to `release` beta 4 of Shortcut Menus!! A few new features, many of which were requests by people on /r/shortcuts and the Shortcuts Discord server. It now supports: ✅ Custom Images ✅ Multiple Menu Options ✅ An easter egg for today... And more to come soon! #webdev #buildinpublic
I got multiple menu options working in my web app for iOS Shortcut VCARD menus! I’m going to do some more testing before releasing though. I had to refactor a 450+ line typescript file into 10+ other components so I want to make sure it’s working. #webdev #buildinpublic
Wow, Mobile Safari is really giving me a tough time with the clipboard api. I might have to call it a night and try to fix this tomorrow...
New project I'm working on to take a break from other side projects. A menu builder web app for iOS Shortcuts! It should help make the process of creating VCARD menus a lot easier. Using Lucide icons, but will add more in the future. Building it with Astro and Tailwind. #webdev #buildinpublic

I plan on adding a tutorial for how to create VCARD menus and link to some other good resources that I’ve found on them as well. I’ll also add links to download starter Shortcuts to copy the results into. If anyone is interested in testing let me know. #Shortcuts

Our community deploys Astro sites just about everywhere. Whether you're on a Node server, a serverless function, or even a Cloudflare worker, I love how Resend just works. — @bholmes.dev
@codinginpublic.dev I just found your YouTube channel. I’m loving all your Astro content! I’m going to see if I can expense your course through work, but if not I’ll likely buy it myself soon. Cheers! 🍻

It's kind of wild that something so old can be brand new to you. TIL about the <details> and <summary> elements. Feel like I should have known this a very long time ago, but legitimately don't think I've worked anywhere that made use of them before today. developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...
I love Shortcuts, but the app itself has so many bugs that it’s almost unusable with any sort of complex routines. I’ve mostly moved on to just learning more JavaScript, especially with the help of Copilot to walk me through with baby steps.
I’m fairly certain that a subset of the bugs in Shortcuts will plague Apple Intelligence (real) at launch, and despite being handed to them directly will not be resolved in time bsky.app/profile/matt...

It's the little bits and bops of detail in the UI that can make your site more engaging for your users. But it can be tricky to write all the code from scratch. @tomasba.com shows us how to get started using the @motion.dev n.dev library in an @astro.build o.build site.

Hey Astro peeps! I'm building a web app to calculate how much soil is needed for different sizes raised garden beds and I'm wondering how far do I need to go with components. I'm not good with anything beyond html and css so bear with me. Using GitHub Copilot but trying to learn while doing so.

Here is what Copilot is telling me when I ask if it's a good idea to refactor this file into smaller components. github.com/jpasholk/coc...
Today I refactored the main file into several components since it was over 300 lines, added tabs to switch between different calculation conditions, and added animations. Not too bad for a noob! J/k… heavily relying Co-Pilot. 🤔🤣 cococalcs.jpshlk.com #webdev #webdesign #tailwind #buildinpublic
