I live a little over 2 miles from Kenan. I’ve lived here for 25 years, and never.. never has it ever been that loud. Maybe the 2003 Bruce Springsteen concert

Triangle Blog Blog@triangleblogblog.bsky.social

Blog bloggers heard the PA system from Kenan Stadium during last night’s football game throughout Carrboro and Chapel Hill, and Reddit reports we weren’t the only ones.

This Monday, Oct 26 at 4PM on the Carrboro Radio Hour wcomfm.org I will be talking with Sharon Mosley is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor As we approach the end of the year, with holidays that feature gatherings and food rituals, we end up creating stressful situations.

All set up for tonight’s Orange-Chatham Sierra Club social. Our last of the year. Stop by, and learn how we’re helping our endorsed candidates in the mid terms 🗳️ We’re at Dingo Dog in Carrboro!

I am actually disappointed I’m not in Paris for this . French protesters are pro level

obviously many more important takeaways from the French approach to protest, but much respect to the absolute varsity level Whimsy of throwing a whole ass piano at the cops

Another tremendous day of #earlyvoting in Orange County (NC). Today had 65% more votes than the first Saturday of voting in 2022, with three sites nearly doubling their totals from then. Overall there's nearly a 63% increase in early voting so far.

Spent the morning canvassing in the cold and rain for Ian Baltutis, NC house candidate, and the entire @ncdp.org ticket in Alamance County. Get out and vote! pho

This Monday, at 4PM on the Carrboroean Radio Hour ( WCOM-FM , 103.5) I will be airing the interview I recorded with Beth Bronson, who is running for Orange County Commissioner, District 2. Early voting started last week. And, now, more than ever, voting early is important.

Nice to know if the flawed FSD fails you on a bridge you still have a way out

"Flying cars are real!" 🚀 Elon Musk and Tesla showcase the new Roadster.

Voter 544 at the Drakeford. Vote early to make sure there are no issues. You can then sort them out in time. It’s amazing long time voters have had challenges to their registration, but that is where we are

I interviewed Beth Bronson for The Carrboroean radio hour. Watch the website for a playback and I’ll share when it’s going to be broadcast. Perfect interview for the first day of voting ! 🗳️

This is exactly the point I brought up to the Orange County Board of County Commissioners when they were considering a moratorium on data centres. OC needs rules on backup power, what kind and how long it’s run, before allowing them in the county

Brad Johnson@climatebrad.hillheat.com

My god. A Virginia data center ran backup diesel generators full blast for 24 hours, creating a giant cloud of toxic smoke that choked its human neighbors. The government claimed there was nothing they could do.

It’s #weekwithoutdriving , and I’m heading to Chapel Hill Town Hall for tonight’s Town Council meeting. Am I driving? Nope, it’s an easy trip on the NS. I’ve used it many times to get there, not just today

Who benefits from NC's proposed property tax amendment? Watchdog Bob Hall warns that capping local property tax increases would be a gift to Duke Energy and data centers, while leaving families to cover the cost through higher fees, sales taxes, or cuts to public services.

Kicking off my Monday of a week without driving by taking the bus to a meeting in Durham. Follow along. I start out with breakfast at Weaver st, which has an NS bus stop just across the street so I can see my bus while I’m waiting. #weekwithoutdriving

Snack over, I’m back at Durham station for the trip back to Chapel Hill. It’s a bit inconvenient rn as the transit center is going through a makeover but it will eventually be worth it

Back home in Chapel Hill. Three tasks completed on this trip to Durham. Visited east campus, downtown and the American Tobacco complex. No car! Mondays are my Durham day. So if you want to meet and discuss Durham articles and ideas, hit me up! #weekwithoutdriving

This is great. My wife was a social worker and got her MSW at the UNC School of Social Work

Former NBA superstar and UNC alumnus Michael Jordan has made a $10 million donation to the UNC School of Social Work in honor of his mother, Deloris P. Jordan. The university said the donation is the largest in the school of social work’s history. Here are the details:

People get all gushy and happy when the see people in movies and ad content serenely riding bikes. But it all goes south when they encounter this on the way to COSTCO . Be these people… Don’t be the angry COSTCO driver

I made it! No photo of Durham station today. It’s truly a mess with construction. However, it’s going to be the best looking bus depot in the triangle when finished. And it’s across the street from AMTRACK, DBAP , and a lot of great downtown restaurants #weekwithoutdriving

Breakfast finished. Now I’m on the NS to meet my connecting GoTriangle bust to Downtown Durham #weekwithoutdriving

Made it to my connecting stop early. This stop brings back lots of memories because it’s the stop I took for years to commute to RTP. What I like about a stop like this is it has a nice coffee shop so if I miss my bus, I can chill and have a coffee until the next bus arrives

I am totally on board with this. Who thinks handing the keys for an Escalade to a 17 year old is a great idea?
